STEPHENVILLE - Riding the momentum of a seven-game winning streak, Tarleton (18-5, 11-2) hosts a trio of Lone Star Conference foes in the final regular season home games of the season, beginning tonight at 7 p.m.
The TexAnns host Texas A&M-Kingsville, Eastern New Mexico and No. 11 West Texas A&M this week in the final three home games of the season - which are highlighted by 'Pink Out' night, a canned food drive and 'Purple Out' night, respectively.
A berth in LSC Championship Tournament was claimed by Tarleton following their last win and the TexAnns currently sit in sole possession of second place in the conference. They are currently one-game back of No. 9 Angelo State for first-place in the standings.
Katie Covell, Nikki McNorton and Stacie Murrah lead a potent TexAnn offense, which currently ranks fourth in hitting percentage in the LSC, as one of only two trios in the conference with at least 200 kills each.
Covell leads the team with 239 kills while McNorton and Murrah have 230 and 208 kills, respectively. McNorton also leads the team and conference in total blocks (119) and blocks per set (1.45). She's also No. 3 in the nation in blocks per set.
Danielle Barker has shouldered the load of the setter position this season due to the injury bug. The junior setter is seventh in the LSC with 9.03 assists per set and is No. 93 in the nation.
Kingsville comes into Tuesday's game having won two straight to move into sixth place in the LSC standings.
Tarleton trails the all-time series 19-16 to the Javelinas, but the TexAnns have won three straight against TAMUK and four of the last five.
Friday night at 6 p.m. the TexAnns will host Eastern New Mexico, who enter the week having lost four straight and eight of their last nine.
The TexAnns trail the all-time series against ENMU 23-11, but has won 10 straight over the Zias including a four-set victory over the Zias in Portales earlier this season.
Tarleton will then host No. 11 West Texas A&M at 2 p.m. Saturday for the home finale. The Lady Buffs enter the week having won three straight matches, following a sweep at the hands of Abilene Christian Oct. 13.
The TexAnns defeated West Texas A&M in a five-set thriller in September.
