Box Score 1 | Box Score 2 ARKADELPHIA, Ark. – The Tarleton baseball team dropped an extra innings affair to Ouachita Baptist on Saturday, falling 2-1 in the bottom of the 12th inning in game one to the Tigers at Rab Rodgers Field in Arkadelphia, Ark. The second game of the scheduled doubleheader ended in a tie, 0-0, after the game was called due to darkness.

Fans in attendance got to see free baseball in game one of the scheduled doubleheader as it took 12 innings for the game to go final where the Tigers (1-4) snatched up a walk-off win over the Texans (2-2).

Garrett Kelly (RHP, Jr, Corpus Christi) pitched 4.2 innings of scoreless baseball in relief, but he was just unable to get the final out of the frame, giving up four straight hits in the bottom of the 12th. OBU's McCrae Jones connected on a walk-off single with the bases loaded as Landon Moore came home to score, breaking the 1-1 tie and giving the Tigers the win.

The Texans scored the game's first run in the top of the fifth inning with a RBI-double from Ryan Small (INF, Sr, Longview). Evan Robinson (INF, So, Flower Mound) reached first base earlier in the inning with a single and he later stole second base before coming around to score to give Tarleton the 1-0 lead.

OBU countered in the bottom of the fifth inning when Sean Noland singled and later scored following an error on the catcher. His run tied the game at 1-1, and it would take seven more innings before the game concluded.

Pete Perez (RHP, Sr, Hagatna, Guam) (ND, 1) got the start for the Texans going 7.0 full innings and giving up just one run on three hits. He struck out six and walked four before being relieved in the top of the eighth inning.

Kelly (0-1) allowed just the one run in his 4.2 innings of work. He yielded five hits, struck out six batters and walked none.

Game two was tied 0-0 heading into the top of the seventh inning before the game was called due to darkness. Due to the game having already gone five innings, the umpire can rulle the game tied according to the NCAA rulebook (Section 10.a.1).

Miguel Ramirez (RHP, Sr, Gallup, N.M.) got the start for the Texans and all he did through six full innings of work on the mound was give up four hits, while striking out nine batters and walking just two. OBU's Davis Ward got the start and he threw six scoreless innings as well, giving up two hits and striking out two Texan batters.

With the tie, the Texans are now 2-2-1 overall and the Tigers moved to 1-4-1.

The Texans and Tigers will conclude the four-game set tomorrow with a doubleheader scheduled to begin at noon. Matt Buckmaster (1-0) is slated to take the mound for the Texans. Live stats of tomorrow's games can be found by clicking this link here.
