QUICK HITS
• Tarleton opens play in the 2013 Lone Star Conference Championship Tournament this Thursday, Mar. 8 at 2:30 p.m. The championship will be held at the Allen Event Center in Allen, Texas.
• The Texans earned the No. 3 seed after finishing the regular-season 10-8 in LSC play and will face the No. 6 seed Eastern New Mexico Greyhounds. ENMU finished 9-9 in league play and in a four-way tie for fourth place in the conference. Tiebreaker scenarios put the Greyhounds at the No. 6 seed.
• The Texans fell 58-55 to West Texas A&M in the regular-season finale on Saturday. Junior
Chuck Guy paced the Tarleton offense with his season-high 27 points on the road, but it wasn't enough as WT had three players score in double-figures to earn the win.
• The home team between the Texans and Buffs has won seven of the last nine games in the series. Tarleton won the other two contests on neutral floors during LSC Championship tournament play.
• The winner of Thursday's game would play the winner of the No. 2 Cameron/No. 7 West Texas A&M contest. The game would be played on Friday, Mar. 8 at 2:30 p.m. Cameron took both ends of the regular-season series between the two teams, while Tarleton split its season series with WTAMU.
SERIES HISTORY
• The Texans now lead the all-time series 32-8 after the two teams split the 2012-13 regular-season series.
• Thursday marks the first time ever that Tarleton and ENMU will face each other on a neutral floor.
• The Texans are 2-0 when playing the Greyhounds in the LSC Championship Tournament. Tarleton won the first meeting 57-54 during first round action in Stephenville back on Feb. 25, 1997. The two teams have not met in the tournament since the Texans then downed ENMU 64-58 in Portales, N.M., during the semifinals back on Mar. 7, 2003.
• Tarleton has won 11 of the past 13 meetings against ENMU and 29 out of the last 31.
ABOUT THE GREYHOUNDS
• Head coach Andrew Helton is in his fourth season with the Greyhounds
and brings in an overall record of 48-58 into Thursday's game against the
Texans.
• ENMU finished the regular-season 12-14 overall and 9-9 in the LSC. The Greyhounds finished in a four-way tie for fourth place with the 9-9 mark in league play.
• The Greyhounds won a season-high four consecutive games from Jan. 26 through Feb. 6. ENMU's longest losing streak consisted of six straight losses that ranged from Dec. 12 through Jan. 12.
• ENMU's largest margin of victory was a 16-point win over Incarnate Word in Portales, N.M. on Feb. 23. The team's largest margin in a loss came to BYU, a 33-point defeat to the Cougars in Provo, Utah, on Dec. 18.
• The Greyhounds went 7-4 inside Greyhound Arena this season and were just 3-10 on the road. ENMU did however go 2-0 on a neutral court.
• The Greyhounds went 1-1 in overtime games this season. ENMU fell 69-65 to West Texas A&M at home and defeated Angelo State 87-81 in San Angelo. Both overtimes were single overtime contests.
• ENMU averaged 70.4 points per game in the regular-season and gave up 72.8 points per game to opponents.
• The Greyhounds shot 42.8 percent as a team from the field, while yielding 44.2 percent to opposing teams from the floor.
• ENMU ranked second in the LSC with a 37.1 shooting percentage from beyond the arc. The Greyhounds made a league-high 203 three-pointers on the season, averaging 7.8 three-pointers made per game.
• ENMU converts 64.4 percent of its free throw attempts.
• Rodney Blackmon led the Greyhounds with 17.0 points per game, which ranks third-most in the LSC. He also averaged a team-high 5.0 assists this season.
• Rafael Love was second on the team in scoring (14.9 ppg), but led ENMU on the boards with 7.3 rebounds per game.
ENMU AT THE LSC CHAMPIONSHIP
• The Greyhounds are making the program's third consecutive and 17th overall appearance in the LSC Tournament.
• ENMU brings in an all-time tournament record of 8-15 (.348) into Thursday's contest. The Greyhounds are on a current five-game losing streak in the LSC Tournament, with its last win coming in the first round during in the 2003 championship.
• The Greyhounds are 0-1 inside Allen Event Center, falling in the first round to West Texas A&M last season.
• ENMU's lone LSC Championship came in 1993. The Greyhounds defeated Texas A&M-Kingsville 76-68 in Abilene.
TARLETON AT THE LSC CHAMPIONSHIP
• The Texans are making its 12th straight trip to LSC postseason play and 15th appearance overall.
• The Texans have made eight LSC Tournament Finals - second-most behind West Texas A&M's 11 championship game appearances.
• Tarleton is 20-13 (.606) overall in LSC Tournament games, which ranks as the fourth best percentage all-time. The Texans are 11-3 in quarterfinal games, 8-3 in semifinal games, and 1-7 in the championship final game.
• Tarleton has had 11 players named to the LSC All-Tournament team and two MVP's of the championship.
• Tim Burnette was named MVP in Tarleton's 2004 championship run and was again named MVP in 2006. Despite the Texans falling to West Texas A&M in the championship final, Burnette became just the second player ever to earn MVP honors on a losing team (Ed Turner, TAMUK - 1980).
TARLETON VS ENMU AT THE LSC CHAMPIONSHIP
• Tarleton is 2-0 all-time when facing the Greyhounds in LSC Tournament games.
• Tarleton's first-ever LSC Tournament win came against the Greyhounds. Tarleotn won the game 57-54 in Stephenville back on Feb. 25, 1997.
• The Texans other win over the Greyhounds came exactly 10 years ago on the day that the teams will meet this week. Tarleton defeated the Greyhounds 64-58 on Mar. 7, 2003 at Greyhound Arena.

• The Tarleton Alumni Association and Tarleton Athletics Department invite you to join them in for a reception honoring both the Texans and TexAnns in Allen, this Friday, Mar. 8 from 5-6:30 p.m. at Dodie's Place.
• Dodie's is conveniently located right across from the Allen Event Center and all Tarleton fans attending the tournament this week are encouraged to attend in support of both teams. Hor d'oeuvres will be served and a cash bar will be available. Door prizes will also be given away to those in attendance.
