UAC announces Allen, Texas as host site for 2027 Men’s and Women’s UAC Basketball Tournaments

STEPHENVILLE, Texas — The United Athletic Conference announced on Thursday morning that the inaugural 2027 UAC Men's and Women's Basketball Tournaments will be hosted at The Credit Union of Texas Event Center in Allen, Texas on March 10-14.

Tarleton State Basketball will play in the conference tournament in the state of Texas for the first time in their Division I era. After spending the first six years in the D1 ranks as members of the Western Athletic Conference, on July 1, 2026, the Texans joined the United Athletic Conference. As members of the WAC, the Texans played in four conference tournaments in Las Vegas. In Tarleton State's Division II playing days, the Texans played in the Lone Star Conference Tournament in Allen, Texas, from 2012 to 2017 and in Frisco, Texas, from 2018 to 2020.

The men's team made three-consecutive Lone Star Conference finals appearances in the first three years the event was hosted in Allen. The Texans won back-to-back titles in the formerly known Allen Event Center in 2013 and 2014. The women's team reached the conference finals twice, winning the title in 2017 in the six-year span that Allen hosted the conference tournament.

The Credit Union of Texas Event Center holds over 7,000 seats and opened in 2009 with a production cost of over $50 million. It was originally named the Allen Event Center before switching to The Credit Union of Texas Event Center in 2021. The arena hosts concerts, events and sports each and every year. Concerts such as Twenty One Pilots, Meghan Trainor and Kane Brown have graced the inside of the event center as well as Dude Perfect and Disney on Ice over the last several years. It is also the home of the Allen Americans ice hockey team that plays in the ECHL.

2027 will be the inaugural UAC men's and women's basketball season. The Texans will face familiar opponents, Abilene Christian and UT Arlington, which they took on as members of the WAC. In addition, the Texans now add Austin Peay, Central Arkansas, Eastern Kentucky, Little Rock, North Alabama and West Georgia as UAC opponents. The first UAC regular season basketball schedules were released a few weeks ago and are available on Tarletonsports.com. Season tickets are on sale now.

The non-conference schedule for both Tarleton State Women's and Men's Basketball will be announced at a later date. For the latest and most up-to-date news and information follow both programs' on Instagram and X @tarletonwbb and @tarletonmbb.
