Friday's match against Eastern New Mexico is on Halloween and fans are encouraged to wear their costumes to the match as they cheer on the TexAnns against the Zias. A gift card will be awarded to the fan with the best costume.
LAST TIME OUT
Tarleton State continued its winning ways as the TexAnns won their fifth straight game with a clean sweep of Texas A&M-Kingsville. Tarleton cruised to a win in straight sets (25-19, 25-20, 25-15) led by
Hailey Roberts' team-high 20 kills, which was her second-straight 20-kill effort, on 37 attacks and just four errors for a .432 hitting percentage. The win was the third straight over an LSC opponent and brought their overall record to 9-1 in the month of October.
TEXANNS AT NO. 6
On the strength of a 19-5 season, Tarleton is currently sitting at No. 6 in the South Central regional rankings – the highest regional position in school history. This is just the third time in school history the TexAnns have ever cracked the top-10 in the regional rankings, never raising higher than No. 9 before this year.

This weekend's match against West Texas A&M will be a battle of No. 5 against No. 6, as the Lady Buffs enter Wisdom Gym ranked fifth in the South Central region.

TARLETON vs EASTERN NEW MEXICO
Tarleton and Eastern New Mexico have met 38 times in the school's history since the inaugural meeting in 1985 and the TexAnns have won 13, primarily since taking the momentum and dominating the series since 2005. After going 1-23 in the first 24 meetings, Tarleton State won a four-set match on Oct. 29, 2005, which was the beginning of a 12-win in the last 14 stretch for Tarleton. The TexAnns fell in straight sets to ENMU on September 27
th in Portales, NM.
TARLETON vs WEST TEXAS A&M
Tarleton State has won two games over the past three seasons over the Lady Buffs, including a five-set thriller in Stephenville on Sept. 17, 2011 to snap West Texas A&M's 87-game conference winning streak which stretch from 2006-11. The next season, Tarleton earned another win to come from behind 0-2 in the match to knock off West Texas A&M in The Box for the first win in Canyon in school history. The defeat by the TexAnns is the last LSC loss for the Lady Buffs as they have won their last 34 league contests. West Texas A&M defeated Tarleton via sweep back on September 26
th in Canyon.
PLAYERS OF THE WEEK
Hailey Roberts and
Katie Covell are coming off spectacular weeks for Tarleton State, which earned them player of the week accolades. Roberts and Covell took the offensive and defensive players of the week, respectively, from the Lone Star Conference while Roberts also earned the school's first-ever Sports Imports/AVCA National Division II player of the week honor.
PROTECT THIS HOUSE
The TexAnns enter Friday's match with a record of 19-5 riding an eight-game winning streak at home. Tarleton has won nine of the 10 matches played in Wisdom Gym this season, sporting a .900 home winning percentage.
