THE GAME
Tarleton State will look to get back in the win column Saturday night when the No. 3 Texans host Texas A&M-Kingsville at 7 p.m. in Wisdom Gym on Stephenville Night.
GAME DAY PROMOTIONS
It is Stephenville Night in Wisdom Gym and all Stephenville residents - with proof of residency - will receive free admission into the game. For all other fans, admission and all concessions will be $1.
THE BROADCAST
The game will have a live radio broadcast presented by the Tarleton Sports Network presented by North Texas Ford Dealers. The Voice of the Texans,
Casey Hogan, will be back calling the play-by-play for Tarleton basketball this season. The radio broadcast can be heard on KTRL 90.5 FM in Stephenville and surrounding areas or online at TarletonSports.com/ListenLive. The pregame show will begin 15 minutes prior to tip-off.
THE SERIES
Saturday night's game will be the 54th game between Tarleton State and Texas A&M-Kingsville since Tarleton became a senior college in 1961. Tarleton has a record of 32-21 against the Javelinas since 1961, including a record of 28-11 since
Lonn Reisman took over the program in 1988.
THE OPPONENT
In the first season after the retirement of longtime head coach Pete Peterson, the Javelinas have opened the season 5-8 under new head coach - and Peterson protégé - Johnny Estelle. Kingsville boasts four players averaging double-figure scoring efforts, led by
Troy Jones with 15.1 points per game. Kingsville opened LSC action at home and was outscored 47-32 in the second half to fall to Texas A&M-Commerce 87-71.
ONE-SIDED SERIES SINCE '02
Since a 72-64 win for Tarleton State on Feb. 21, 2002, the Texans have been in complete control of this series. Tarleton State has won 23 of the last 26 games against the Javelinas, including a record of 14-1 in Stephenville over that span.
HOME SWEET HOME
Tarleton State returns to the friendly confines of Wisdom Gym where the Texans have won 13 straight games, dating back to February 5, 2014.
TARLETON IN THE LSC
Tarleton State has developed into one of the premier basketball programs in the nation, as well as within the Lone Star Conference.
Lonn Reisman is the only Texan coach to lead Tarleton through the LSC as an NCAA coach. He has amassed a record of 179-92 in Tarleton's 20 years as an NCAA conference member. Reisman and the Texans have won three LSC regular season championships, three LSC championship tournament title - including the last two - and has also won at least 10 conference games in four straight seasons.
TARLETON IN NATIONAL POLLS
After starting the season ranked No. 12 in the nation, Tarleton State has since moved up nine total spots to No. 3 in the latest edition of the polls after starting the season 12-0. This now marks the 24th consecutive week in which Tarleton has appeared in the national rankings since joining the polls on Nov. 19 last season.
NABC HISTORY
Of the 92 weeks in the NABC rankings, Tarleton has spent 58 of those weeks in the top 10, 39 in the top 5 and eight weeks at No. 1.
RANKINGS BY THE MEDIA
The D2 Media Poll, sponsored by D2SIDA in its first year, has a regional poll released every Monday, followed by a national poll every Tuesday. Each region has two representatives that comprise the regional poll. The Texans are tied for No. 5 in the latest media-voted ranking.
REISMAN IN JANUARY
Since his debut season as the head coach of Tarleton State in 1988,
Lonn Reisman and the Texans have played 233 January games and amassed a record of 166-67 for a Janaury winning percentage of .720. He is 69-29 (.701) against teams who are not current LSC teams in January and 97-38 (.723) against current LSC rivals in the month of January under Reisman, including 12-7 when playing Texas A&M-Kingsville in the year's first month.
TEXANS AT HOME
In Coach Reisman's 27 seasons at Tarleton State, the Texans have amassed a total record of 363-61 including a record of 145-13 with two undefeated home seasons since 2005.

SOME KIND OF RUN
Since the beginning of last year, Tarleton State has amassed an overall record of 40-4 for a winning percentage of .929. Only Lincoln Memorial (41-3; .931) has a better win percentage over that span.
COMING OFF A LOSS
Since November 2013, losing has not been a common occurrence to Tarleton. In two years, the Texans followed up a loss by outscoring the game-after team by an average of 13.2 points.
