STEPHENVILLE, Texas —Tarleton State Men's Basketball head coach Eric Haut announced the signing of class of 2026 guard, Caeden Hutcherson.
Hutcherson joins the Texans as the first incoming freshman signee ahead of the 2026-27 season. In his first year at the helm of the program, Haut has brought in multiple transfers with experience. In addition to a sophomore, junior and senior that are all returning, Haut has signed five seniors, two juniors and a sophomore transfer.

"Caeden is a talented young player who brings a strong work ethic, competitive spirit, and a commitment to getting better every day. He has the ability to impact the game in a variety of ways, and we believe his skill set and character make him an outstanding fit for our program. Just as importantly, Caeden comes from a tremendous family. Sasa and Carlos have been instrumental in his development and have helped instill the values, discipline, and mindset that will serve him well at the next level. We are excited to welcome all of them to our basketball family and look forward to watching Caeden grow as a player, student, and person in our program."
The San Francisco, Calif., native, spent three years of his prep career at Archbishop Mitty in before heading to Arizona to finish his high school career. For his senior season, he played for the Dream City Christian Eagles in Glendale, Ariz. During his season year, Hutcherson was recognized as a three-star prospect by 247 sports. He was ranked as the 18
th best guard in the state and the 54
th best player in Arizona in the class of 2026. Nationally, Hutcherson was ranked in the top 300 by the recruiting service, 247 sports.

Hutcherson spent his senior season at Dream City Christian in Glendale, Ariz. During his senior season, the Eagles were 9-11 with an appearance in the State Quarterfinals. He also spent summers with Jalen Green Elite and Team Lillard throughout his prep days.
As a sophomore and junior he attended Archbishop Mitty in San Jose, Calif. During his two seasons with the program, the squad tallied a 39-22 record. During his sophomore season the Monarchs went 23-8 overall and posted a 12-2 record in their league. The Monarchs reached the Regional Semifinals of the 2024 California Interscholastic Federation Playoffs falling to eventual state runners-up San Ramon Valley. In his junior season, the Monarchs posted a 15-14 record to finish fifth in their league. He was named Second Team All-League and Honorable Mention in his two seasons with the Monarchs.
He started his prep career at St. Ignatius College Prep in San Francisco, Calif. As a freshman, the Wildcats went 14-14 in his first prep season. The squad finished fourth in their league with a 7-7 league record. In the middle of league play, they strung together a four-game winning streak including a victory over the regular season champions, Archbishop Riordan.
He is the son of Carlos and Sasa Hutherson. Caeden inspires to be an entrepreneur.
