ABOUT THE LSC PLAYOFFS
This will be the second season of the LSC Playoff System. The conference playoffs seed all seven LSC schools with the top four teams going into the championship bracket and the bottom three, along with Oklahoma Panhandle, going into the consolation bracket. The playoff system considers the games as postseason but this playoff system is separate from the NCAA National Playoffs. Also, the games played in the LSC Playoffs, while against LSC opponents, do not count towards the teams' conference records.

COVERING THE GAME
Saturday's contest will be aired on the Tarleton Sports Network presented by North Texas Ford Dealers. The game will be broadcast live on KTRL (90.5 FM) with Casey Hogan calling play-by-play and Keltin Wiens joining him for color commentary. Travis Smith joins the broadcast team on the sidelines. In addition to the radio feed, the game is online at www.tarletonsports.com/listenlive.

LAST TIME OUT
Tarleton held a 21-14 halftime lead on the road against Angelo State but was outscored 43-3 in the second half and defeated by the Rams 57-24. The Texans put up 411 yards of offense in the first two quarters and quarterback Zed Woerner had 302 passing yards at the half.

TARLETON vs TEXAS A&M-KINGSVILLE
Saturday marks the 30th meeting all-time between Tarleton and Texas A&M-Kingsville, formerly Texas A&I. The Texans trail the all-time series 9-20, dating back to the inaugural meeting in 1970, and currently riding their longest win streak of the series (3).

INSIDE THE SERIES
Tarleton and Texas A&M-Kingsville have a 45-year-old rivalry that has been primarily controlled by the Javelinas. After losing the first three meetings, Tarleton defeated the Javelinas for the first time on Oct. 27, 1973 with a 34-33 victory in Stephenville. Kingsville answered by winning 13 of the next 14 meetings through 2005, which included a 19-year hiatus from 1975 to 1994. Since a 23-0 win by Tarleton on Oct. 7, 2006, the Texans have had a 7-4 edge in the series, which includes a 38-34 win at Javelina Stadium earlier this season.

TEXANS IN THE LSC
The Texans are 104-142 (.423) all-time in Lone Star Conference contests.

TEXANS UNDER FOWLER
The Texans are now 29-31 under head coach Cary Fowler and have one Lone Star Conference championship to their credit in his tenure. Fowler's first LSC championship is the third LSC championship for the Texans in school history. His next win will give him 30 in his Tarleton career, making him one of seven coaches in school history to top 30 wins as a head coach.
