Pat Ponder. "We'll take today's experiences and learn from them and try to use it as motivation during practices to continue to work and get better for the next meet."
Sophomore
Chase Rathke started the day off for the Texans by running 4:08.82 in the mile finishing fourth behind Samford's Arse'ne Guillorel (4:08.44), Belmont's Marcus Bridger-Wilkinson (4:06.41) and South Alabama's Christoph Graf who won the event in 4:06.14.
The men's 4x400m relay won their heat in 3:16.88 over Southern Miss. (3:17.08), Georgia Tech (3:19.44) and Liberty (3:19.49) who finished the meet third, sixth and seventh, respectively.
Western Carolina would win the event in 3:16.27 besting Tarleton's relay of
Cameron Krc,
Gilson Umunnakwe,
Blake Eschbach and
Marquis Thompson by 0.61 seconds, winning the first heat of the event by over two seconds.
In only her second collegiate meet freshman
Morgan McKee cleared 1.60m (5-03.00) to finish in a three-way tie for third-place. McKee was clean through the first two heights clearing 1.55m (5-01.00) and 1.60m on the first attempts before bowing out of competition with three straight misses at 1.65m (5-5.00). South Alabama's Lamia Miller would win the event clearing 1.75m (5-08.75.)
Senior
Danyelle Dillard, competing in the shot put, would finish ninth with her best throw coming on the fourth attempt with a toss of 13.17m (43-02.50.)
