THE GAME
Tarleton State enters the Lone Star Conference Championship Tournament as the top seed and will get things started Wednesday night with an 8:30 p.m. tip off against the No. 8-seed Eastern New Mexico at the Allen Event Center.

THE BROADCAST
The game will have a live radio broadcast presented by the Tarleton Sports Network presented by North Texas Ford Dealers. The Voice of the Texans, Casey Hogan, will be back calling the play-by-play for Tarleton basketball this season. The broadcast can be heard on KTRL 90.5 FM in Stephenville and surrounding areas or online at TarletonSports.com/ListenLive. The pregame show will begin 15 minutes prior to tip-off.

THE OPPONENT
Eastern New Mexico enters the tournament as the last place team in the LSC following a 7-20 season, including an 0-14 mark in Lone Star Conference action. The Greyhounds rank at or near the bottom in almost every offensive category in the conference, including a league-worst scoring margin of -14.0 points per game. The Greyhounds have improved that of late, however, playing Texas A&M-Commerce to a six-point game and visiting Tarleton and West Texas A&M for a pair of 10-point losses. The Greyhounds are led by John Gilliam, an honorable mention all-conference selection as the league's third-leading scorer at 16.4 points per game.

THE SERIES
Tarleton State and Eastern New Mexico began its senior-college era rivalry in 1964 and has since developed into a one-sided affair with Tarleton owning the all-time record of 36-8. Of the eight Tarleton losses to the Greyhounds, six of them came in the first nine meetings until a Tarleton win on February 25, 1997 turned the tide in the Texans' favor. That win started a 19-game winning streak over the next decade for Tarleton in the series. Since 2008, Tarleton has won 16 of the last 17. The run is also 33 of the last 35 for the Texans since that February win in '97.

THE OUTRIGHT CHAMPIONS
Tarleton State enters the LSC Championship Tournament as the outright champions of the LSC regular season. The only other time Tarleton could be considered an 'outright' champion was during the 2003-04 season when Tarleton won the LSC North Division title and the LSC Tournament in the same season. Tarleton did away with divisions in 2011 and began naming regular season champions and tournament champions.

COMING TO FRUITION
Tarleton State was named the preseason favorites in the Lone Star Conference on Oct. 29 during the LSC's Online Basketball Media Day. The Texans brought the preseason title to life last Sunday when they won the outright Lone Star Conference Championship.

TARLETON IN THE LSC
Tarleton State has developed into one of the premier basketball programs in the nation, as well as within the Lone Star Conference. Lonn Reisman is the only Texan coach to lead Tarleton through the LSC as an NCAA coach. He has amassed a record of 191-93 in Tarleton's 20 years as an NCAA conference member. Reisman and the Texans have won four LSC regular season championships, three LSC championship tournament title - including the last two - and has also won at least 10 conference games in five straight seasons.

TARLETON IN NATIONAL POLLS
After starting the season ranked No. 12 in the nation, Tarleton State has spent the entire season moving between the No. 3 and No. 15 spots in the national poll and are back in the top 10 in the latest ranking at No. 7 for the second straight week. This now marks the 33rd consecutive week in which Tarleton has appeared in the national rankings since joining the polls on Nov. 19, 2013.

NABC HISTORY
Of the 101 weeks in the NABC rankings, Tarleton has spent 61 of those weeks in the top 10, 39 in the top 5 and eight weeks at No. 1.

RANKINGS BY THE MEDIA
The D2 Media Poll, sponsored by D2SIDA in its first year. Each region has two representatives. The Texans are No. 5 in the latest media-voted ranking.

SOUTH CENTRAL POWER
The latest South Central regional polls were released on Wednesday with Tarleton holding on to the top spot for the second straight week. The Texans were followed by LSC rivals Angelo State in fourth, Midwestern State in sixth and Texas A&M-Commerce in seventh.  Five teams in the South Central Rankings are nationally ranked.

LOVIN' ALLEN
Tarleton State is no stranger to the bright lights of the Allen Event Center. Since the postseason tournament moved to Allen in 2012, Tarleton State is 8-1 at the Event Center, including a six-game winning streak over the past two seasons that have ended in Tournament Championships for the Texans. This is the first season that Tarleton heads to Allen as the top seed.

REISMAN MOVES UP ALL-TIME WINS LIST
After starting the season No. 26 on the all-time wins list for Division II Head Coaches, Lonn Reisman has now moved into sole possession of No. 18 after moving out of a tie with Brian Beaury of St. Rose University. In addition to moving Reisman into 18th place all-time, it also moves him into the top five winningest Division II active head coaches in the nation - behind only Herb Magee of Philadelphia University; Bob Chipman of Washburn; Richard Schmidt of Tampa; and Tom Klusman of Rollins.

MEMORABLE 450
Not only was Sunday's win against Commerce memorable for being the conference championship win, but it was also win No. 450 in Tarleton's NCAA history.

UP NEXT FOR TARLETON
As long as Tarleton wins in Allen, the Texans will stay. If the Texans defeat Eastern New Mexico, they will face the winner of West Texas A&M and Texas A&M-Commerce Friday night at 8:30 in the tournament semifinals.
