THE GAMENo. 6 Tarleton travels to Midwestern State to take on the No. 4-ranked Mustangs at D.L. Ligon Coliseum at 7:30 p.m. Both teams enter the game undefeated in the Lone Star Conference with Tarleton on top with a 3-0 record and MSU at 2-0.

LAST TIME OUTTarleton defeated A&M-Kingsville 50-47 to move to 13-2 and 3-0 in the LSC. It was the first home loss of the season for A&M-Kingsville as Tarleton extended its winning streak to four straight.

THE OPPONENT: MIDWESTERN STATEMidwestern State is 13-1 and 2-0 in the LSC. The Mustangs, ranked No. 4 by the NABC, are winners of 10 straight. MSU is led by Jordan Stevens' 16.7 points per game. The Mustangs average 88.4 points per game while holding opponents to 68.7 points.

THE SERIES: MIDWESTERN STATEMidwestern State leads the all-time series 26-46 since 1961. In the Reisman era started in 1988, MSU leads 24-26. Tarleton won the last match up 58-53 in Wichita Falls in Feb. 2015. The road team has won each of the last four games in the series.

Xavier Smith took home Defensive Player of the Week honors. For Reed, it's the seniors second straight LSC Offensive Player of the Week award and his fourth this season. Reed also has a Defensive Player of the Week award, giving him five total – no one else in the LSC has two. It was Smith's first LSC weekly award of his career.
