For the first time in school history, Tarleton Volleyball begins the season nationally ranked. The TexAnns are the No. 25 team in the nation in the AVCA poll. The TexAnns open the athletic season on Friday, Sept. 1 against Maryville to begin a four-game run for the TexAnn Invitational.

HURRICANE HARVEY DONATIONS
TexAnn Volleyball is collecting donation items at the TexAnn Volleyball Invitational this weekend with all items going to those affected by Hurricane Harvey. Tarleton Athletics, in conjunction with multiple efforts across Tarleton State University, asks that you bring toilet paper, diapers, soap, razors, feminine products, shampoo/conditioner, or other toiletries. For any donated item fans bring, they will get free admission to the TexAnn Volleyball Invitational on Sept. 1-2. All items can be brought to Wisdom Gym and the Rec Center at game time.

THE GAMES
Tarleton opens the season against the Saints at 12:30 p.m. and will wrap up day one with a 5:30 p.m. bout against Rockhurst. On Saturday, Tarleton will take on Southwest Baptist (12:30 p.m.) and Central Oklahoma (5:30 p.m.) with all four games in the TexAnn Volleyball Gym.

THE OPPONENT: MARYVILLE
This is Tarleton's first matchup with Maryville. The Saints are a member of the Great Lakes Valley Conference. The Saints went 4-27 last season.

THE OPPONENT: ROCKHURST
Rockhurst is ranked No. 23 in the nation to open the season. This is the first matchup against Rockhurst since 2002. The TexAnns are 0-2 all time against the Hawks, with both previous matches coming on a neutral court. Rockhurst went 27-7 last season and advanced to the NCAA tournament.

THE OPPONENT: SOUTHWEST BAPTIST
Tarleton is 4-2 all time against Southwest Baptist, and it's the first meeting since 2011. The TexAnns have won four straight against the Bearcats. Southwest Baptist is in the MIAA and went 3-29 in 2016.

THE OPPONENT: CENTRAL OKLAHOMA
Central Oklahoma is ranked No. 18 in the nation to open the season after going 30-4 in 2016. The Broncos advanced to the second round of the NCAA tournament last season. The TexAnns are 4-14 all time against Central Oklahoma, but won the last matchup in 2010.

KEY RETURNERS
Tarleton returns six out of seven starters that tied a school record for wins, going 27-7 and advancing to the NCAA tournament for the third straight season.
Hailey Roberts returns for her senior year after winning the D2CCA Ron Lenz National Player of the Year. Roberts and senior
Jordyn Keamo were both named All-Americas as juniors.
Adrianna Knutson returns for her junior campaign after being named second-team All-Lone Star Conference last season.
