PORTALES – Tarleton finishes the Lone Star Conference Outdoor Championships with three NCAA Provisional Marks and two medals on the final day.
 
Anterius Brown tops his collegiate best from last night and his previous NCAA Provisional Mark and hits another NCAA Provisional Mark with a fourth-place finish in the 400-meter dash, running a time of 47.35. 
 
Alan Palmer hit his second NCAA Provisional Mark of the season in the long jump with a new collegiate best jump of 24' 4.50". Palmer ended up placing fourth overall.
 
The men's 4x400-meter relay also hit the NCAA Provisional Mark running a season best time. The relay team that consist of Brandon McKissick, Anterius Brown, Zachary Martinez and Skyler Sandusky placed fourth overall running a time of 3:12.79.
 
In the distance races, Tarleton had two top-5 finishers. Michael Simcho had the top finish for the Texans placing second in the 1,500-meters with a time of 4:00.15. Esmeralda Fuentes finished fifth in the 5,000-meters, running a time of 19:05.94.
 
Jasmine McQuirter claimed bronze in the long jump with a jump of 18' 11.75". Kylee Ponder ran a collegiate best in the 400-meters placing fourth overall, running a time of 56.56.
 
The Texans finished fifth overall as a team scoring 60 total points and the TexAnns placed seventh as a team scoring 41 points.
 
For those who qualify, the NCAA National Outdoor Championships will be in Kingsville starting on May 23.
