STEPHENVILLE, Texas – Tarleton will host a "Teddy Bear Toss" themed game next week, and the Texans announced Thursday that fans have an even easier option to participate on the special day.
Tarleton is now offering a ticket package that offers both a ticket and teddy bear for Wednesday's women's basketball game against Northwestern State at Wisdom Gym.
For the "Teddy Bear Toss" fans are encouraged to throw a stuffed animal on the basketball court in order to win a prize, in turn creating an iconic scene of a court full of stuffed animals that will all be donated to local child advocacy centers. At halftime, a box will be at half court as the goal to land the stuffed animals. Anybody who makes one into the box will receive a large prize – if no stuffed animals are thrown into the box, anybody who lands one on the Tarleton logo will receive a small prize.
Stuffed animals need to be tagged with the person's name before the event in order for prizes to be distributed. Materials for tagging will be provided at the game.
Fans can either bring a new or lightly used stuffed animal to throw, or now purchase one for $7 that will be provided when they arrive at the game.
The ticket package is valid through Tuesday at noon. Fans should add a game ticket to their cart and a teddy bear toss donation as well to receive both. For those with tickets already, there is a separate link to purchase a teddy bear.
Multiple teddy bears can be purchased, giving any fans multiple chances to win a prize.
