Stephenville will have plenty of chances to watch fall sports this week, as Texan Football starts it off Thursday evening, as they host Mississippi Valley State to kick off the season.

Tarleton Volleyball will begin their week on Tuesday as they head to Lubbock, Texas, to take on Texas Tech. They then have a few days off to prepare for the Dr. Pam Littleton Classic that begins in Wisdom Gym on Friday, where they play Southeastern Louisiana that morning and Tennessee State in the evening. They will close out the invitational Saturday night against Prairie View A&M. Texan Soccer is also back at the Tarleton Soccer Complex Friday evening to play Alcorn State, while Tarleton Cross Country begins their season on the road in Abilene, Texas, to compete in the ACU Naimadu Classic Friday night.

TEXAN FOOTBALL kicks off their 2022 season against Mississippi Valley State in Memorial Stadium at 7 p.m. Thursday night. Head Coach
Todd Whitten is entering his 13
th season as the leader of the Texan Football team and looks for his third consecutive winning season with Tarleton since the transition to NCAA Division I. Whitten announced last week that Beau Allen, four-star prospect and Kentucky transfer, will be the starting quarterback for the Texans to kick off the season. Memorial Stadium looks to be covered in purple on Thursday night, as it will be a Purple Out with purple shirts given out to the first 1,000 fans. The Texans' next game will come on Saturday, Sept. 10, at 7 p.m. in Fort Worth against TCU.

TARLETON SOCCER impressed a packed home crowd Thursday night with a 6-0 shutout against Arkansas-Pine Bluff in their inaugural season home opener. Six different Texans found the back of the net with three goals in each half. They had a quick turnaround and played at Lamar Sunday afternoon, dropping that game 5-1. Texan Soccer hosts their only game of the week on Friday at 6 p.m. against Alcorn State. This will be a Kid's Night with postgame autographs available to fans. Their next game will come a week later at the Tarleton Soccer Complex on Friday, Sept. 9, against UT Permian Basic at 6 p.m.

TEXAN VOLLEYBALL has four games total this upcoming week, beginning on Tuesday, Aug. 30, at 6 p.m. in Lubbock, Texas, to take on Texas Tech. They will then host the Dr. Pam Littleton Classic Sept. 2-3, which will begin Friday at 10 a.m. against Southeastern Louisiana. Their next game comes at 6 p.m. that evening to take on Tennessee State. This game will also feature a tribute to Dr. Pam Littleton as well as 300 free t-shirts given out in her memory. The invitational will conclude on Saturday at 5 p.m. as the Texans take on Prairie View A&M. Tarleton Volleyball looks to keep the momentum rolling as they began their season 3-0 in the Texan Invitational and only dropping one set in those three games.

TARLETON CROSS COUNTRY begins their season in Abilene, Texas, at the ACU Naimadu Classic at 6:30 p.m. Friday night.
Clay Holland begins his first season as head coach of Tarleton Cross Country and Track & Field after a three-year run as the Texans' top assistant coach. Their next event will be Saturday, Sept. 10, at 7:30 a.m. in Grand Prairie, Texas, at the UTA Invitational.

TARLETON SPORTS EXTRAVAGANZA begins Monday at 6 p.m. at Twisted J Live. These will be held every Monday night through the end of basketball season, with certain holiday exceptions. The first show will feature a $500 Tarleton Student Scholarship Giveaway, sponsored by TAP, for one lucky Tarleton student present at Twisted J. Other incentives to the show include ticket giveaways to Twisted J Live Shows, food and drink specials, and Tarleton Athletic ticket giveaways. The
Todd Whitten Show, presented by Triple Crown Ford, and the
Mary Schindler Show, presented by F&M Bank, will kick things off for the Tarleton Sports Extravaganza.

The ticket office is open from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m. and 1 p.m. to 5 p.m. at Memorial Stadium.
