STEPHENVILLE, Texas – After an impressive showing at the WAC Indoor Championships in late February, Tarleton track and field has turned its attention to the outdoor season.
The Texans will travel an hour and a half to Arlington where they will compete in the UTA Invite at Maverick Stadium on Thursday and Friday.
It will mark the third consecutive season that Tarleton has participated in the UTA Invite.
Last season at the meet in Arlington, the Texans captured 20 medals in a five-team field that included UTA, UIW, Little Rock and Fort Scott CC. Unattached student-athletes from ACU, UNT and East Central also competed.
Reid Vincent leapt 24' 2.25" to notch a lifetime personal record and win the men's long jump.
The Texans will have 26 men student-athletes and 23 women competing in this season's iteration.
On the men's side, WAC Indoor medalist
Ca'terrin Cox will run the 110m hurdles and the 4x400m relay.
Brady Sisneroz will run both the 110m and 400m hurdles.
On the women's side, freshman
Jordan Rae will compete in the 200m dash, 100m hurdles, high jump and long jump.
Macie Evans will run the 400m dash as well as the 4xx400m relay.
Jordan Anglin will take part in the same races as Evans.
For the men's field events,
Ethan Bratton will throw the discus and hammer,
Luke Ferguson and
Isaac Hutchings will compete in the pole vault,
Tyler Harrell will be in the long jump field as well as
Tyler Stone.
Jamariyan Howlett will participate in the high jump, an event he earned All-WAC second team honors in 2022.
Maxon Newell and
Kyler Seymore will also compete in the high jump.
Women's field competitors include
Bonnie Clifton in the hammer throw,
Hailey Daniels-White in the discus and hammer Jaylee Matthew will throw the discus and
Audrey Lillard in the hammer throw.
Paige Elliott and
Keelin Engel will compete in the pole vault.
Ashonti Idlebird and Rae will be in the long jump.
Dora van Doremalen and
Kylee Willis will take part in the high jump.
