STEPHENVILLE, Texas ­— With the new year just three days in, the Tarleton State men's and women's basketball programs have announced their promotional schedule for the 2024 calendar year.
 
In its first home game of the New Year, Tarleton Men's Basketball hosts UT Arlington on National Trivia Day (Jan. 4). Fans will be invited to join in on trivia questions throughout the night in-arena for the chance to win different Tarleton prizes. The women's squad returns to Wisdom Gym on Jan. 11 for the first t-shirt giveaway of the year. Early-arriving fans will receive a purple Texan t-shirt in an effort to "Purple Out" the gym against California Baptist. Just two days later, the women will welcome Grand Canyon to Stephenville on National Rubber Duck Day. To celebrate, fans will receive a large basketball-themed duck.
 
On Jan. 18, Texan men's basketball hosts Abilene Christian on Residence Life Night. Tarleton State Residence Life will be hosting a neon-themed night to encourage on-campus residents to come out and support their fellow Texans against the Wildcats. Just two days later, the women's squad hosts UTRGV and will invite all former players and coaches to come out for Alumni Night. The men's squad will round out its January home slate with a pair of contests on Jan. 25 against Southern Utah, and Jan. 27 against Utah Tech, both featuring a giveaway item. On Jan. 25, the first arriving fans will receive a Texan "States Up!" foam finger giveaway. On Saturday against the Trailblazers early-arriving fans will receive a free white Texan t-shirt in the squad's annual "White Out".
 
Bill Brock's squad will open February at home against Abilene Christian on the 1^st. Wisdom Gym will be transformed in a rodeo for the night, with a purple bandana giveaway and rodeo-themed promotions throughout the night. A pair of lucky fans will compete in the regular season debut of the inflatable horse barrel races debuted on Midnight Madness. The men will return to round out the week on Feb. 3 against Stephen F. Austin for Military Appreciation Night. Tarleton will honor those that sacrifice so much to represent our country.
 
Feb. 8, Texan Women's Basketball hosts Utah Valley on National Women in Sports Day. The following Thursday will be the women's team annual Play 4 Kay Game. In honor of cancer awareness, fans will be encouraged to wear pink to Wisdom Gym. Fans will receive Play 4 Kay mini basketballs and pink wristbands as quantities last. The men's squad will host California Baptist in their last home game of the month on Feb. 24. In honor of National Trading Card Day, fans will receive Tarleton Men's Basketball player cards.
 
March will close out the home slates for both squads, which will recognize and honor their seniors in each of their final home games. The women will recognize their seniors on March 2 against Southern Utah, and the men will honor their seniors on their final regular season game against Seattle U on March 9.
 
In total, there will be 18 Texan Basketball home games in 2024 all against WAC opponents. Don't miss the action and get out to Wisdom Gym to watch competitive basketball and snag as much Texan swag as you can!
