Tarleton State Baseball announces Fall Home Games

STEPHENVILLE, Texas – Tarleton State Baseball will play a pair of home games this fall at the Tarleton State Baseball Complex Friday, Oct. 18 and Friday, Nov. 1 at 2 p.m.

The Texans will open the fall season against Odessa College on Oct. 18 and go up against Weatherford College on Friday, Nov. 1 in Stephenville. Admission to both games is free. 

Tarleton State is looking to continue in one of the university's core values: Excellence. While transitioning into Division I, Tarleton State Baseball became the first Division I baseball program to win a conference tournament in a reclassifying stage.

Under second-year head coach Fuller Smith, Tarleton State is now a full-fledged Division I Institute and is eligible to compete in the NCAA Tournament. 
Tarleton State is coming off a 32-win season in 2024, including 17 wins in WAC play. In 2024, the Texans' plate appearances included 106 doubles, nine triples and 40 home runs. The Texans' pitching staff forced an opposing batting average of .279, collecting 404 strikeouts in the process. 

Located in West Texas, Odessa won 27 games in their 2024 season. The Wranglers had 530 hits and stacked the bases with 120 doubles, 23 triples, and 34 home runs. 

Qualifying for the Region V NJCAA Tournament in the Spring of 2024, Weatherford College tallied 45 wins and collected 25 victories in conference play. Weatherford tacked on 506 hits and totaled their bases with 104 doubles, 15 triples, and 30 home runs in 1,657 at bats. Within their pitching staff, they had a strong 3.15 ERA, with a .222 batting average against while having 10 shutouts in their season.
