WEEK AT A GLANCE: Texan Tennis home for Senior Day, Track & Field hosts Joe Gillespie Invitational during Giving Week

There's a first time for everything, and this week it will be the Oscar Frazier Memorial Track hosting an invitational in Stephenville during Tarleton State's Giving Week.

TEXAN TRACK & FIELD doesn't have to travel for competition this week, as they will be hosting the Joe Gillespie Invitational this Friday and Saturday. This will take place as the newly built Oscar Frazier Memorial Track that is west of the Tarleton State Soccer Complex. The Texans will be back on the road next week in Waco for the Michael Johnson Invitational Apr. 19-20.

TEXAN TENNIS split their matches last week, topping Stephen F. Austin at home and dropping their first conference match of the season at Grand Canyon. The Texans will host their final regular season match of 2024 on Saturday at 1 p.m. at the Tarleton Tennis Facility. Elsa Boisson and Martha Makantasi will each be recognized before the match in honor of Senior Day and the success they have had with Texan Tennis. It will also be Alumni Day, with numerous Tarleton State Tennis alums in the stands to experience the new facility and be honored for their past successes. The Texans will close out their season Apr. 18-20 at the WAC Women's Tennis Tournament in Harlingen, Texas.

TARLETON STATE SOFTBALL is back in Stephenville and will host Grand Canyon for a three-game series beginning on Friday with a doubleheader. The first game is scheduled for 4 p.m. with game two set to be approximately 6:30 p.m., depending on the duration of game one. This will be a First Responders Night, where nurses, doctors, firefighters, EMS, and police department members will receive free admission with a valid work ID. Sodexo will also have concessions deals for these members, such as half of beer. To celebrate the rest of the crowd that evening, mini Texan helmets will be given away while supplies last. Tarleton State Softball will close out the series against Grand Canyon at 11 a.m. on Saturday. The Texans will play again in Stephenville on Apr. 16 in a doubleheader with Texas Southern.

TEXAN BASEBALL went 3-1 last week after a series sweep of Seattle U, outscoring the Redhawks 24-7 over the course of three days. They will be back on the road this week, traveling to Utah Tech for a three-game series that will begin on Friday at 7 p.m. Game two will be at 3 p.m. on Saturday and they will close out the series at 12 p.m. Sunday. The Texans will return to Stephenville to host New Mexico State on Apr. 16.

TEXAN WOMEN'S GOLF will conclude its regular season at the Oral Roberts Spring Invitational, a two-day event on Monday and Tuesday. Last spring, Mathilde Brogens led the Texans at this invitational, carding a one-over and a sixth-place finish. The Texans will have 10 days of rest before the WAC Championships Apr. 19-21 in Payson, Arizona.

TEXAN BEACH VOLLEYBALL is back in action in Houston as they take on Stephen F. Austin at 11:30 a.m. on Wednesday and Houston Christian at 4 p.m. the same day. These will be the final regular season matches for Tarleton State Beach Volleyball's inaugural season before they travel to Youngsville, Louisiana, for the Conference USA Championship Apr. 25-27.
