TEXAN TRACK AND FIELD will send five athletes to the 2026 NCAA Division I Track and Field Championships on Friday and Saturday in Fayetteville, Arkanas, at the Randal Tyson Track Center. The Texans set a new program record with five student-athletes earning a selection to the indoor championships. The Indoor Track and Field Championships only select the top 16 individuals in each of the events based on their season best performances. Individual and team conference champions do not receive an automatic bid, just the top 16 individuals with the best marks during the regular season or conference championships. In the track events, the 16 racers will compete in the semifinals on Friday with the top 8 advancing to the finals on Saturday. In the field events, it will only be competed once with the finals the only iteration of the event. Victoria Cameron, Prestina Ochonogor and Lokesh Sathyanathan will make their second indoor national championships appearances as a Texan. Freshman JayBrion Jones and senior Lauren Roy will head to the indoor championships for the first time. Cameron will run in the 60 meters, entering tied for the top mark in the NCAA this season with a season-best of 7.08 seconds. Jones will be in the men's 60 meters. Jones is one of just two non-Power four runners and one of two freshmen among the 16 men selected. Roy earned a bid in both the women's 60 meters and 200 meters. She is one of four women to be selected in both the 60 and 200 meters. Roy was the WAC Champion in the 200 meters and placed second in the 60 behind Cameron at the WAC Championships. Sathyanathan will compete in the long jump, where he ranks in the top 30 in the world this year and is the top Indian-born jumper. Ochonogor will also compete in the long jump, where she broke the All-time WAC record earlier this season with a 6.69-meter leap. The Texans will open at the Indoor Championships on Friday with the women's long jump. All five athletes will compete on the first day, with the track events featuring the semifinals and both the men's and women's long jump finals. The track athletes will race in the finals on Saturday with a top eight performance in Friday's semifinals.

TEXAN BASEBALL will play three games this week, as it's Tuesday game at UIW was postponed to May 5. Tarleton State will host Houston Christian this weekend for three games; Friday at 6 p.m., Saturday at 3 p.m. and Sunday at 12 p.m. Tarleton State is enjoying a five-game winning streak, with a Power Four conference win against Baylor and a four-game sweep at New Mexico. This is the Texans' longest winning streak since a five-game run between March 7-12, 2025, which was a four-game sweep of New Mexico and a home win against UIW. Tarleton State last won six straight Feb. 20-27, 2024. Tarleton State is 11-5 overall this season, its tied best start through 16 games in its NCAA Division I era.

TEXAN WOMEN'S GOLF plays in the Riverbend Intercollegiate at Riverbend Country Club hosted by Houston Christian on Monday and Tuesday. It marks the penultimate event of the regular season for the Purple and White. The Texans are competing in the spring event hosted by HCU for the fifth-consecutive season. The 16-team field features one other WAC program, UT Arlington. Only three programs are competing that hail from outside the state of Texas: Louisville, Austin Peay and New Mexico State. The squad's best team finish came last season when the Purple and White finished third overall shooting 39-over par, 903. Louise Depadt and Lou Deltombe placed fifth and sixth overall last season to lead the Texans. The Texans will send out a five-woman squad after having just four compete in Puerto Rico earlier this week. Depadt and freshman Gina Chen will occupy the first two slots. The duo is followed by Deltombe, Natalia Fiel Ros and Darianys Guzman.

TEXAN SOFTBALL will continue its recent run of road games with Tuesday's postponement of the previously scheduled home game against Texas Tech. Now, Tarleton State will play five games this week at the UNC-Greensboro/Elon Tournament; Friday at 11:30 a.m. CT against Lehigh, Friday at 4:30 p.m. CT at Elon, Saturday against Lehigh at 10:30 a.m. CT, Saturday at UNC Greensboro at 1 p.m. CT, and Sunday at Elon at 11 a.m. CT. The Texans are off to a hot start this season, now 16-9 overall, with a recent 6-5 comeback victory at Texas State.

TEXAN TENNIS will wrap up a five-match road trip this weekend, set to face UT Arlington on the road Friday at 11 a.m., then UTRGV in Austin, Texas, on Sunday at 5 p.m. Tarleton State's match at UTA will be its first WAC opponent in 2026. The Texans will make the short trip to Arlington to play at the UTA Tennis Center, where they've had numerous tight matches. Besides recent WAC Tournament matches there, the Texans and Mavericks have played 4-2, 4-2 and 5-2 results there over the past three matches. Since 2024, the Texans and Mavericks have squared off five times, all matches going 5-2 or 4-2. Looking ahead to Sunday, the Texans are 6-0 against the Vaqueros, all six between 2021-24 when UTRGV was a member of the WAC. Tarleton State won each match by a 5-2 final or better, the last four combined margin at 26-2.

TEXAN BEACH VOLLEYBALL just knocked off Central Arkansas 3-2 this past weekend, and now will play three matches in Monroe, Louisiana, this upcoming weekend. The Texans will take on Missouri State on Friday at 1 p.m. CT, then Stephen F. Austin on Saturday at 11 a.m. CT, followed by the host ULM Warhawks on Saturday at 1:30 p.m. CT. The event in Monroe is dubbed the ULM Bayou Bash. Tarleton State is now 3-6 overall this season, with a 3-2 mark over the past five.
