WEEK AT A GLANCE: Texan WBB Basketball Senior Day Saturday, Beach VB home opener Wednesday, Track and Field in Spokane for WAC Indoor championship

Tarleton State Athletics' winter seasons are starting to wind down, while the Texans' spring sports are in full gear. There will be seven programs in action this week, four at home from Tuesday through Saturday, starting with Texan Baseball against UIW Tuesday at 2 p.m., Texan Beach Volleyball against Concordia on Wednesday at 10 a.m. and 1 p.m., Texan Women's Basketball against Utah Valley Thursday at 7 p.m. and against California Baptist Saturday at 2 p.m., and Texan Tennis vs. Appalachian State Friday at 1 p.m.

TEXAN WOMEN'S BASKETBALL will play their final regular season home games this week at the EECU Center, hosting Utah Valley on Thursday at 7 p.m., followed by California Baptist on Saturday at 2 p.m. Thursday will mark Bleed Purple Night on a Purple Thursday, with Tarleton State Athletics giving away free croc charms to boost the school spirit at the game. On Saturday, it will be Senior Day at the EECU Center, as the Texans celebrate three players; Jakoriah Long, Kyriana Jones and Gia Adams. The Texans are in the middle of the WAC standings with three regular season games remaining. Currently they're fifth, a half-game back of the Wolverines team that they'll face on Thursday. Both the Texans and Wolverines are about four games behind the No. 3 team in the standings, and two games ahead of the No. 6 team in the standings, so Thursday's game could very well be a preview of a second round WAC Tournament matchup.

TEXAN BEACH VOLLEYBALL will host a doubleheader on Wednesday against Concordia for their home opener at 10 a.m. and 1 p.m. The matches will be at the Tarleton State Beach Volleyball Courts, and they are free admission for all to attend. The Texans just played their season-opening matches in Houston this past weekend, taking both Saint Mary's and Houston Chrisitan to the wire. Hayden Huber and Bella Parayno had the best weekend for the Texans, finishing 2-2 with wins over Houston Christian and Saint Mary's on Court 2.

TEXAN BASEBALL will be in and around the Stephenville area for four games this week, starting Tuesday with a midday game against Incarnate Word. Tarleton State and UIW will clash at 2 p.m. at the Tarleton State Baseball Complex. The Texans will welcome back former WAC Tournament champion assistant coach Nick Zaleski, who is now at the helm of the Cardinals. From Friday-Sunday, Tarleton State will play at La Moderna Field in Cleburne, Texas, home of the Cleburne Railroaders. The Texans will play Creighton twice (Friday at 2 p.m. and Sunday at 11 a.m.) and Texas State once (Saturday at 6 p.m.). Tarleton State has started 4-3 through the first 10 days on the year, highlighted by a sweep over Le Moyne on opening weekend.

TEXAN TENNIS is back home for a match this week, one of two matches overall with a Sunday road match at UTSA at 2 p.m. Tarleton State will host Appalachian State on Friday at 1 p.m. in Stephenville at the Tarleton State Tennis Facility. The Texans are 6-3 this season, and a perfect 5-0 at home. Tarleton State has won 16 straight home matches, dating back to the 2023-24 campaign. Aya Ishii leads the way with seven singles wins (7-1 across Courts 1-2) for a Texan squad boasting a .733 win percentage in singles action.

TEXAN TRACK AND FIELD will begin its postseason at the WAC Championships in Spokane, Washington, on Friday and Saturday. The Texans will be vying for their first team title since joining the WAC. The athletes will also be in search of posting top 16 times in their individual events to earn a bid to the NCAA Indoor National Championships in Fayetteville, Arkansas, on March 13-14. The Texans ended a successful regular season last week at a pair of meets hosted by Arkansas and Texas Tech. So far this season the Purple and White have posted 47 new program top 10 bests. That also includes seven new indoor school records. In addition, Lauren Roy set the Irish national record in the 200, Malak Rashwan broke her own 60-meter hurdles Egyptian record and Lokesh Sathyanathan became the first in India to record at least an eight-meter indoor leap.

TEXAN SOFTBALL hits the road for the second time this season after hosting back-to-back tournaments, playing in the UNM Invitational in Albuquerque, New Mexico, hosted by the Lobos. The Texans will play in five games, starting Friday at 11 a.m. CT against Houston Christian. They'll also take on the host Lobos twice (Friday at 6:30 p.m. CT and Saturday at 6:30 p.m. CT), and the UTEP Miners twice (Saturday at 1:30 p.m. CT, Sunday at 10 a.m. CT). The Texans are 11-5 to start the season, and a perfect 5-0 away from Stephenville.

TEXAN MEN'S BASKETBALL will play its final two regular season road games on the year, taking on Utah Valley Thursday at 7 p.m. CT and California Baptist Saturday at 8 p.m. CT. Tarleton State is two games back of the No. 4 seed in the WAC standings, trailing UT Arlington, and a half-game back of the No. 5 seed Abilene Christian. Seeds 6-7 play a first round game in the WAC Tournament on the first day, Wednesday, March 11.

THE TARLETON STATE BASKETBALL RADIO SHOWS will resume at The Purple Goat on Monday from 6-7 p.m., with regular Monday weekly shows through the rest of the season (except March 9). The weekly radio shows will air on the flagship station of Tarleton State Athletics, KTRL 90.5 FM in Stephenville, Texas, and worldwide at TarletonSports.com/Watch. Students and fans are encouraged to attend live.

TICKETS are available for all of the upcoming home events online at TarletonSports.com/tickets. The Tarleton State Ticket Office is located on the west side entrance of Memorial Stadium. Regular business hours are Monday through Friday, 9 a.m. to 12 p.m. and 1 p.m. to 5 p.m. All Tarleton State students receive free admission through the Corq App. All admission to soccer, tennis, beach volleyball, golf and track and field events are free.
