WEEK AT A GLANCE: Texan Softball hosts ACU, Track and Field at Texas Relays

It's rivalry week for Tarleton State Softball, who is scheduled to host Abilene Christian for a doubleheader on Friday (4 p.m. and 6:30 p.m.) and the series finale on Saturday at 12 p.m. With projected rain in the forecast Wednesday-Sunday, the softball schedule may change, but that decision will be made in the coming days. Six other Texan programs are participating this week away from Stephenville, including Track and Field heading to Austin, Texas, for the Texas Relays.

TEXAN SOFTBALL will be home this week for three games against rival Abilene Christian. Currently the two are scheduled to square off in a doubleheader on Friday at 4 p.m. and 6:30 p.m., with the series finale Saturday at 12 p.m. Tarleton State Athletics will be giving away Texan bottle opener keychains to early arrivers at the Friday 4 p.m. game, while supplies last. The Texans just played their first conference games this past weekend at UT Arlington, salvaging the series with a 6-2 victory in the finale on Saturday. Tarleton State and ACU are each 1-2 through their first WAC series, with the Texans now 22-16 overall and the Wildcats 4-27 overall.

TEXAN TRACK AND FIELD will head to Austin, Texas, to participate in the Texas Relays Thursday-Saturday at Mike A. Myers Stadium. It will be the third event for the Texans in their outdoor season. In Tarleton State's second event this past weekend at Baylor, Ca'terrin Cox broke his own school record in the 110 hurdles to lead the Purple and White. The Texans broke one school record and set 10 new program top-10 performance bests. In addition, the Purple and White had five top three finishers in their event. So far this outdoor season, the Texans have set three new school records and 15 total top 10 program bests.

TEXAN BASEBALL will have four road games this week, a rematch against Baylor in Waco on Tuesday at 6:30 p.m., then conference play begins at UT Arlington, with games on Thursday at 6 p.m., Friday at 6 p.m. and Saturday at 1 p.m. The Texans are enjoying one of their best seasons in the last decade, now 19-8 overall following their series sweep against Air Force at home this past weekend. Tarleton State has the second most overall wins in the WAC, and the Texans are 8-1 in true road games this season, with the eight wins against No. 2 Texas, New Mexico and Stephen F. Austin.

TEXAN BEACH VOLLEYBALL has its final regular season road matches this upcoming weekend in Corpus Christi, Texas. Tarleton State will take on ULM on Friday at 9 a.m., Texas A&M-Corpus Christi on Friday at 1 p.m., Pepperdine on Saturday at 8 a.m. and Cal State Bakersfield on Saturday at 12 p.m. Tarleton State has highlight wins this season against San Francisco, Stephen F. Austin, and Central Arkansas. Following the final road slate, Tarleton State will host its final regular season matches on April 9-10 in Stephenville.

TEXAN MEN'S GOLF will compete in the Memphis Intercollegiate beginning Monday at the Colonial Country Club. The two-day tournament will feature a 54-hole format, with 36 holes scheduled for Monday followed by the final round on Tuesday. The event will be played on the Tournament Course, a par-72 layout that has hosted numerous collegiate and professional events. Redshirt freshman Alvaro Pastor is coming off his second individual title in the Texans' last tournament, winning the All-American Intercollegiate Individual Championship. Along with that, Pastor also earned his second WAC Golfer of the Week award and is now No. 112 in national college golf rankings.

TEXAN WOMEN'S GOLF will compete in their regular season finale at the Georgia State Invitational on Monday and Tuesday at the Rivermont Golf Course in Johns Creek, Georgia. It marks the Texans second trip to the state of Georgia in the Division I era with the first coming earlier this fall at The Southern hosted by Georgia Southern. The regular season finale will be a two-day 54-hole event with a pair of rounds on Monday. Louise Depadt will occupy the top slot, with Lou Deltombe as the Texans' No. 2. The duo is followed by Gina Chen and Natalia Fiel Ros. Darianys Guzman will occupy the fifth slot for the Purple and White. The Texans have posted two top three finishes this spring both coming when the Texans had five golfers in the lineup.

TEXAN TENNIS will play its final regular season road matches this week, at Tyler Junior College on Friday at 10 a.m. CT, then at Louisiana Tech on Saturday at 11 a.m. CT. Tarleton State just swept its College Tennis Weekend slate in Utah this past weekend, defeating Montana 7-0 and Utah Tech 7-0. The Texans did not lose a set in singles or doubles in either match, with five Tarleton State players going 2-0 in both singles and doubles. Saturday's wins improved Tarleton State's record to 13-5, the fourth straight season the Texans have won at least 13 matches. Tarleton State picked up its third straight win without giving up a point to the opposition, winning 24 points in a row to date.
