Tarleton State Football remains ranked No. 3 in FCS Stats Perform, AFCA Coaches Polls

STEPHENVILLE, Texas – Tarleton State Football's No. 3 national ranking in both the FCS Stats Perform and AFCA Coaches Polls remained unchanged heading into Week 7. 

The Texans defeated Southern Utah 52-42 on Saturday at Memorial Stadium to stay undefeated with a 6-0 mark. Scoring 50+ points for the fourth straight game, it is the first time in program history Tarleton State has scored at least 50 points in four consecutive games. The Texans have four games with 50+ points for the first time in the Division I era, good for the second most all-time in a single season. 

The Texans have started 6-0 for the first time in their D1 era and for the first time since 2019. They've won six straight games, matching their longest winning streak in their D1 era.

Only North Dakota State and South Dakota State ranked ahead of the Texans in both polls. NDSU received 1,398 points and SDSU tallied 1,340 points to Tarleton State's 1,268 points in the FCS Stats Perform Poll. Tarleton State received one first-place vote in the FCS Stats Perform Poll. The Texans received 574 points in the AFCA Coaches Poll, just shy of NDSU (650) and SDSU (621).
