Tarleton State Women’s Basketball adds former Chipola, Western Kentucky forward Jailynn Brill

STEPHENVILLE, Texas – Tarleton State Women's Basketball has added 6-foot-3-inch forward Jailynn Brill to its 2025-26 roster.

Brill helped Chipola College to one of its best seasons in program history, winning 31 games en route to a No. 1 seed in the NJCAA DI Women's Basketball Championship. The Lincoln, Nebraska, native also spent a season at Western Kentucky.

"Jailynn is an athletic post player that can rebound, run the floor, and score in the paint," head coach Bill Brock said. "She comes from a Nationally Recognized program at Chipola College, where they were ranked No. 1 in the NJCAA Women's Basketball poll for four weeks in the 2024-25 season. Texan Nation will enjoy watching Jailynn's energy and toughness on the court next season and we can't wait for her to arrive in Stephenville."

In her sophomore season at Chipola College, Brill scored 160 points to go with 180 rebounds in 26 starts. Brill registered a double-double of 22 points and 10 rebounds in just her second game with the Lady Indians, also helping Chipola to a 20-game win streak. Following the win over No. 1 nationally ranked Northwest Florida State College, Chipola recorded the second-longest win streak in school history.

Starting every game for the Lady Indians during the Florida College System Activities Association Women's Basketball Tournament, Brill helped Chipola to the FCSAA tournament title. After being in the top 10 NJCAA rankings and knocking off five top 10 opponents, Chipola earned a No. 1 seed in the NJCAA DI Women's Basketball Championship.

In her first season of college basketball, Brill played in 21 games for Western Kentucky. She had a season-high 13 points to go with five rebounds against West Virginia State.

Brill earned four varsity letters at Lincoln High School, leading her team to a conference championship and two district titles. The two-time All-City forward also helped Lincoln High School to a runner-up finish in the 2023 NSAA State Girls Basketball Championship.

Brill is the third Texan to sign as a transfer for 2025-26, joining forward Shadasia Brackens (North Texas) and Gia Adams (North Texas/UTA). She joins three returning letterwinners and four freshmen on the Texans' 2025-26 roster.

Tarleton State is coming off a historic season in 2024-25. The Texans finished with a Division I program record 20 wins en route to its first-ever Division I postseason bid. Finishing second in the WAC, Tarleton State received an automatic bid to the WNIT and played its first-ever Division I postseason game at Wisdom Gym on March 23, 2025.
