Tarleton State Women’s Soccer announces class of 2025 transfer class

STEPHENVILLE, Texas – The Tarleton State Women's Soccer 2025 season is just a few months away and head coach Pete Cuadrado announced the Texans incoming transfer class for the season.
 
A year after the program's best record and most conference wins, the Texans will begin their fourth season as a Division I program. This spring the Texans were 5-2-1. The 2025 roster will welcome 10 total newcomers including five freshmen previously announced. The Texans had two of them from Australia join them during their spring slate. The other three will make their first steps on campus as members of the team later this summer.
 
"We are really excited about these incoming student-athletes," said head coach Pete Cuadrado. "They will not only contribute to our program on the field, but off the field as well. The fall can't come soon enough!"
 
Grace Berry heads to the Texans after spending her freshman campaign at Dallas Baptist. With DBU, she appeared in 21 games while notching six starts. Berry scored two goals and added three assists to total seven points She was one of two DBU freshman to tally multiple goals. She tallied a pair of assists against Central Oklahoma for her first points in her collegiate career. On Sept. 25, Berry scored her first collegiate goal against Oklahoma Christian. As a freshman, she was named to Commissioner's Honor Roll. 
 
She was a four-year letterwinner at Byron Nelson High School under head coach Scott Burke. During her final two seasons, she served as team captain. She earned the District's Offensive Player of the Year in each of her final two seasons. Berry was selected as the MVP of the 2024 TASCO Region 1 All-Star Game. In each of her four seasons, she was an  All-District selection. The transfer was also named to the All-Region Team twice. Berry was tabbed the District's Newcomer of the Year as a freshman. She played five seasons for Sting ECNL Berry was named ECNL All-Texas in her junior and senior seasons. Berry was selected ECNL First Team All-Region as a junior and Second Team as a senior. She also ran on Byron Nelson's 4x100 meter relay team that finished third at the Class 6A State Championships her senior year. Grace is the daughter of Steve and Leah Berry, and she has one brother, Walker. She plans to major in psychology.
 
Sam Cortez joins the Texans after spending a pair of seasons at Colorado State. She played in 14 matches and earning one start. Sam tallied five shots with three falling on goal. She recorded her first shot and shot on goal in her collegiate debut against Idaho State on Aug. 15. The Rams reached the semifinals of the Mountain West Tournament. Sam notched a 4.0 GPA to be named to the Dean's List during her second year. She red-shirted her first season on campus and did not see any game action.
 
She was a four-year varsity letterwinner at Prosper HS under head coach Taylor Baca. Sam helped lead team to four consecutive district championships. She scored 22 goals as a senior and was named 6A co-Midfield Player of the Year for District 5. Sam was tabbed First Team All-District in each of her final three prep seasons. In her final two seasons, she was elected TASCO Academic All-State. Sam played for FC Dallas ECNL and helped lead team to ECNL National Playoffs Final Four in 2022. Sam was selected to participate in the US Youth National Pool Training Camps in Dallas. She is the daughter of Fernando and Liz Cortez and has one sister, Taylor. Sam intends to major in psychology.
 
Paisley Mabra heads to Stephenville after playing her freshman season at Baylor. She appeared in 14 games while earning four starts. She played a season-best 65 minutes against Colorado on Sept. 26. Paisley spent four years on varsity at Midlothian Heritage under head coach Gerald Slovacek. She was a member of the 2021 State Championship team and 2022 State Runners-up squads. Mabra was named to the All-State Tournament team and was a three-time Academic All-District honoree. She was awarded Newcomer of the Year, defensive MVP and team Utility MVP. In her final prep season, she was tabbed First Team All-District. During her youth career, she played six years for Solar 06 ECNL. During her time with the program, the squad reached the National Tournament Final Four three times. She helped her team become three-Time Dallas Cup Champs and three-time Dallas Girls International Champions. She is the daughter of Robert and Dodie Mabra and has two siblings, Makayla and Makenlee. Her intended major is business marketing.
 
Sydney White arrives in Stephenville after she spent her last season at UAB. She appeared in three games. White played her first three prep years of varsity at Spanish Fort HS under head coach Calumn Kearney. Sydney was named team captain as a junior and selected Offensive Player of the Year. During her final season, she was tabbed Prep Soccer National Player of the Week on April 28, 2023. As a junior she scored 38 goals and added 24 assists to help her team lead an undefeated season. Sydney also played varsity basketball as a freshman and sophomore under head coach Ben Redman. She finished out her high school career at Gulf Breeze HS by graduating early. As a youth, she played two seasons for Pensacola Rush FC. Sydney is the daughter of Randy and Ashleigh White and has two sisters, Logan and Kasey J. She Intends to major in kinesiology.
 
Gabrielle Williams appeared in 18 games while starting once during her first season at Sam Houston. Williams scored three goals and tallied a pair of assists to total eight points. She was third on the team in goals scored, the second most by a freshman. Williams tied for the second most points on the team and by a freshman. She took 10 total shots with three on goal, all scoring goals. Williams scored goals in back-to-back games against Houston (Aug. 18) and Houston Christian (Aug. 23). She notched a three-point game against HCU on Aug. 23 with a goal and an assist.
 
Gabrielle played two seasons at the varsity level at South Grand Prairie HS. She served one year as head team captain. As a senior, she was named First Team All-District (2023-24) and was selected Team Offensive MVP (2023-24). Growing up, she played two seasons for Revolution Premiere Soccer Club. She is the daughter of Larry Williams and Shanita Berry and has two siblings, brother, Isaiah Williams, and sister, Symone Berry. She intends to major in finance.
 
The Texans will gear up for the 2025 season at the end of July. More information on their 2025 schedule will be released later this summer.
