WEEK AT A GLANCE: Texan Track & Field makes first appearance at NCAA National Championships

The Texans shined at the NCAA West Preliminary Rounds and look to etch their names in the history books once again at the 2025 NCAA National Championships in Eugene, Oregon.

TEXAN TRACK & FIELD has members across five events competing on the biggest stage of their careers in Eugene, Oregon. In Tarleton State's first year of postseason eligibility across all sports, these student-athletes will make the program's debut at the 2025 NCAA National Championships. Lokesh Sathyanathan finished fourth overall in the men's long jump in College Station at the NCAA West Preliminary Rounds and will get the action started for the Texans Wednesday night in that event. The top nine jumpers after the first three jumps will advance to the finals that same evening for three more jumps. The best jump out of all six attempts will win the title. Thursday will feature three different events representing the Texans, which is the prelims for the women's 4x100 meter relay, the women's 100 meter dash prelims, and the women's long jump prelims and finals. If the women's 4x100 meter relay squad finishes in the top eight on Thursday then they will advance to the finals on Saturday. Victoria Cameron punched her ticket with an 11.01 seconds performance and will represent the Texans in the women's 100 meter dash later that evening in the prelims. If Cameron can notch a time in the top eight, she will advance herself to the finals Saturday evening. Prestina Ochonogor will wrap up the action Thursday night in the women's long jump after posting the second-best jump in the competition in College Station. The same rules apply as the men's long jump, as the top nine jumpers after the first three jumps will advance to the finals that same evening for three more jumps. Sir Jonathan Sims will be the final Texan to make their debut at the NCAA National Championships, competing in the men's triple jump Friday evening. The prelims and finals will take place the same evening, as the top nine jumpers will advance to the finals for three more jumps and the best of all six jumps will take home the crown. The men's long jump on Wednesday will be streamed on ESPN+, as well as the women's long jump Thursday night and the men's triple jump on Friday. Thursday's women's 4x100 meter relay prelims and women's 100 meter dash prelims will be broadcasted on ESPN. ESPN2 will be the home of the action Saturday night, which will consist of the finals of the women's 4x100 meter relay and the women's 100 meter dash.
