STEPHENVILLE, Texas — Tarleton State Women's Golf continues after just three-day rest on Monday and Tuesday at the Riverbend Intercollegiate at Riverbend Country Club hosted by Houston Christian.
The two-day 54-hole event will begin on Monday with a pair of rounds. The final round is slated for Tuesday. It will mark the penultimate event of the regular season for the Purple and White. The Texans are competing in the spring event hosted by HCU for the fifth-consecutive season. The 16-team field features one other WAC program, UT Arlington. Only three programs are competing that hail from outside the state of Texas: Louisville, Austin Peay and New Mexico State. The squad's best team finish came last season when the Purple and White finished third overall shooting 39-over par, 903.
Louise Depadt and
Lou Deltombe placed fifth and sixth overall last season to lead the Texans.
The Texans will send out a five-woman squad after having just four compete in Puerto Rico earlier this week. Depadt and freshman
Gina Chen will occupy the first two slots. The duo is followed by Deltombe,
Natalia Fiel Ros and
Darianys Guzman.
The Texans return to action after playing Tuesday to Thursday at the Puerto Rico Iguana Invitational. Depadt paced the group with a 14th place finish. Chen was the second Texan to finish in the top 20 tying for 18th. The Texan placed with just four and placed seventh overall in the field. Chen placed in the top 20 for the second time in her debut Texan season.
Depadt made her return to the course after missing the last four events of the fall due to injury at the Texas State Invitational to open the spring. She broke the program record for the lowest 18-hole round, shooting a 64 on her second round. The junior previously owned the 18-hole record with a 66 at the WAC Championships last season. Depadt also broke the program 54-hole record carding an 11-under, 205. She previously held the 54-hole record with a 206 at the WAC Championships last spring. She walked away with her third individual win of her Texan career, and the first of the 2025-26 season, winning by four strokes.
Lou Deltombe had an impressive start to the spring posting a pair of top 20 finishes. She shot a 66 in her opening round of the spring at the Texas State Invitational and finished ninth overall. She looks for her third top 20 performance this spring after a 35th place finish in Puerto Rico earlier this week.
The Texans will have a two-week break before closing out the regular season at the Georgia State Invitational in the final two days of March in Johns Creek, Ga.
