STEPHENVILLE, Texas – Tarleton State Volleyball announced its 2026 schedule on Wednesday, a 29-match slate in the regular season with two exhibition matches, plus the United Athletic Conference Tournament in November.

The Texans will host 11 matches at Wisdom Gym, plus an exhibition match on Aug. 21 against Dallas Baptist at 5 p.m. The Texans' home opener will kick off their annual Tarleton State Invitational, held Sept. 10-12. Tarleton State will open its slate with a Kids Day Match on Sept. 10 against Sam Houston at 11 a.m., with local elementary schools in attendance. The Texans and Bearkats played last season in Corpus Christi, Texas, with Tarleton State winning 3-2. On Sept. 11 at 6 p.m., Tarleton State will host Denver, the third all-time meeting between the two programs and first since 1996. To wrap up its home tournament, Tarleton State will host Texas A&M-Corpus Christi on Sept. 12 at 2 p.m., its third ever meeting and first match in Stephenville.
Tarleton State will play six regular season matches on the road before its home opener, plus a road exhibition at Texas State on Aug. 15 at 2 p.m. The 2026 season officially begins for Tarleton State in Tucson, Arizona, at the Wildcat Invitational Aug. 28-30. The Texans will open against UC Santa Barbara on Aug. 28 at 5:30 p.m. CT, which will be the first meeting in series history. Tarleton State will then face the host Arizona Wildcats for the first time on Aug. 29 at 2:30 p.m. CT, followed by a match in Tucson against Prairie View A&M at 12 p.m. CT. The Texans are 4-2 all-time against the Panthers, although Prairie View A&M won last year's meeting in Stephenville 3-2.
The Texans will return to their home state for three more road matches before their home tournament, taking on Rice for the first time in Houston on Sept. 2 at 6 p.m., followed by a two-match slate in San Antonio. First the Texans will take on UTSA on Sept. 4 at 6 p.m. The Texans are 1-1 all-time against the Roadrunners, winning 3-2 in 2023 in San Antonio. Tarleton State will then face Incarnate Word on Sept. 5 at 1 p.m. in the series 35th meeting. The Cardinals hold a 19-15 all-time advantage, but the Texans have gone 3-1 since 2012 and have won seven of the last night matches, dating back to 2010.
After its home tournament, Tarleton State hits the road for four straight matches, a midweek match in Lubbock on Sept. 15 at 6 p.m. against Texas Tech, followed by a three-match slate in Denton, Texas, at the North Texas Invitational. The Texans have faced the Red Raiders twice in the regular season, and just hosted them in a spring home match this offseason. The Texans will take on the Mean Green on Sept. 17 at 7 p.m. in the series fourth ever matchup. UNT won a September meeting in Stephenville last year. Tarleton State will take on East Texas A&M on Sept. 18 at 4 p.m., the 48th ever matchup. The Texans hold a 24-23 advantage all-time. On Sept. 19 at 11 a.m., Tarleton State will face West Virginia for the first time.
Conference play will start for the brand new United Athletic Conference on Sept. 22, as Tarleton State hosts UT Arlington at 6 p.m. The Texans won both meetings last year, snapping a Mavericks' four-match winning streak. The Texans will then host North Alabama for the first time on Sept. 26 at 1 p.m.
On Oct. 1, the Texans will begin the month at Eastern Kentucky in Richmond, Kentucky, at 5 p.m. CT. That will be the first match between the Texans and Colonels. Tarleton State will then play at the Austin Peay Governors for the first time in Clarksville, Tennessee, on Oct. 3 at 11 a.m. CT.
Tarleton State hosts Central Arkansas on Oct. 8 at 6 p.m. The Texans and Bears are 1-1 all-time dating back to 1997, with UCA winning a 2024 meeting in Commerce, Texas. The Texans will then welcome rival Abilene Christian on Oct. 10 at 1 p.m. Tarleton State has won three straight meetings and is 9-2 against ACU over the last 11 matches.
Over Tarleton State's next seven matches, six will be on the road, with a home match sandwiched in the middle. The Texans will take on Arkansas-Little Rock for the first time in Little Rock, Arkansas, on Oct. 15 at 6 p.m., Central Arkansas in Conway, Arkansas, on Oct. 17 at 1 p.m., and UT Arlington in Arlington, Texas, on Oct. 20 at 6 p.m. The Texans will host West Georgia for the first time on Oct. 22 at 6 p.m. for their lone home match in a 27-day span. Tarleton State will then head to Florence, Alabama, to face North Alabama on Oct. 29 at 6 p.m., then Carrollton, Georgia, to face West Georgia on Oct. 31 at 1 p.m. CT, and finally Abilene, Texas, to take on Abilene Christian on Nov. 5 at 6 p.m.
Tarleton State ends its 2026 regular season with a three-match homestand, beginning Nov. 7 vs. Arkansas-Little Rock at 1 p.m., then Nov. 12 vs. Eastern Kentucky at 6 p.m., ending on Nov. 14 vs. Austin Peay at 1 p.m.
The UAC Tournament will be Nov. 18-21, with the site to be determined.
