SAN ANGELO - The Tarleton TexAnn volleyball team dropped a Lone Star Conference road match to Angelo State on Thursday, falling 3-0 to the Rambelles at the Junell Center/Stephens Arena in San Angelo.
With the loss, the TexAnns fall to 10-20 overall, 4-8 in the LSC and are officially eliminated from postseason play. The Rambelles, who had already clinched a spot in the postseason tournament, improved to 17-13 overall and 9-3 in the LSC.
The TexAnn offense, the one that shined over the last two matches, sputtered in Thursday's contest, recording just 27 kills and had a total of attack errors to finish the match with a .019 hitting percentage.
Three different Texanns led the offfense with five kills each and
Jessie Hartman assisted in 23 of the 25 kills.
Shea McBrearty led the TexAnns in the back-row collecting 10 digs, while
Kendall Hansen was tops at the net with one block solo on the evening.
ASU's Alaina Sivells and Claire Chomout led the Rambelles with eight kills each. Chomout led the team defensively with 12 digs as well.
As a team the Rambelles hit .308 and recorded 10 team blocks on the night.
The TexAnns will wrap-up the 2009 regular-season this Saturday agasint Abilene Christian. First serve is set for 2 p.m. at Moody Coliseum in Abilene.
