ODESSA – The Tarleton volleyball team took a 3-0 victory from UT-Permian Basin Tuesday night, improving their record to 20-7 on the season. It was the TexAnns' sixth straight win.
With a 7-4 conference record, the TexAnns put themselves in a good position for a shot at the postseason, taking all three games from the Falcons, 25-19, 25-20, 25-14.
Irelis Ilarraza led the Tarleton offense with 11 kills, while Flynn Harrell added nine kills. Danielle Barker contributed 16 assists, with Jessie Hartman adding 15 more assists.
Shea McBrearty had 14 digs for the TexAnns, a game-high for Tarleton.
As a team, the visiting TexAnns hit a .168 percentage, but held UT-Permian Basin to just a .020 mark.
The Falcons were led offensively by Melissa Lusk, who had eight kills, and Sara Torres, who had 14 assists.
The defense for UT-Permian Basin was their strong suit, recording nine blocks in the match. Danae Eckart recorded 16 digs for the Falcons, while Alex Genung had nine digs.
The TexAnns return home Thursday, Oct. 28th, when they will host West Texas A&M at 7 p.m. in Wisdom Gym South.
