WICHITA FALLS – The Tarleton volleyball team will travel to Midwestern State Thursday Nov. 4 for a match against the Mustangs at 7 p.m.
After Tuesday's Lone Star Conference matches, the TexAnns, who had a day off, unofficially qualified for the LSC Championship at a site to be determined. Tarleton (21-8, 7-5 conf.) holds tiebreakers over Incarnate Word and Southeastern Oklahoma, the only other teams that could match the TexAnns' record.
Tarleton will take on the Mustangs with a win erasing any need for the tiebreakers.
The TexAnns have been led this season offensively by
Jessie Hartman, who has recorded 667 assists, and
Rachel Wolf, who has collected 308 kills.
Flynn Harrell has contributed 240 kills, while
Danielle Barker has provided 393 assits.
Shea McBrearty has 441 digs on the year, while Hartman is second with 210 digs and Wolf is third with 209 digs.
Monica Hamel and
Catherine Cutbirth anchor the front line with 77 and 68 blocks respectively.
As a team, Tarleton is hitting a .208 percentage, averaging 13 kills per game, 11.9 assists per game and 14.9 digs per game.
Midwestern State (14-13, 8-5 conf.) is another LSC postseason qualifier, averaging 12.4 kills per game, 11.4 assists per game and 17.5 digs per game. The Mustangs are hitting just a .195 percentage on the year.
Karolina Damjanovic leads Midwestern State with 264 kills, followed by Shelbi Stewart and her 258 kills. Taryn Westerman is the main fascilitator with 825 assists on the year.
Lauren Bayer has recorded an astonishing 119 blocks this season, while Kiara Jordan has contributed 399 digs and Hillary White has added 347 digs.
