TONIGHT IS...
Saturday is Think Pink Night in awareness of breast cancer. Saturday is also Parents' Day Out in cooperation with the Office of Parent Relations where parents are invited to come to campus to see what is going on. It is also Cisco Night and Lingleville Night where fans will be able to get in free with proof of residence.
TARLETON=BASKETBALL
Out of 275 NCAA Division II basketballs schools, the Tarleton Texans and TexAnns are one of just six schools that are on top of their respective conference standings. The Texans are atop the South Division men's standings while the TexAnns are atop their standings as well.
The other schools are Findlay, Bentley, Drury, Metro State and West Liberty.
BASKETBALL 2
The two Tarleton teams are a combined 34-6 this season, and they have the best combined winning percentage in the South Central region (.850). Central Oklahoma is second with an .805 percentage (33-8), followed by Missouri Southern with a .762 winning percentage this season (32-10).
FINISHING STRONG
The Texans have finished strong in the second half of the LSC division play since the 2001-02 season. Tarleton is 41-13 in that span in the second half of division play, including a 9-3 record in 2008-09 and 2009-10. Tarleton has went 6-0 in 2002-03 and 5-1 five different times.
This season, the Texans are 1-0 so far in the second half for a total of 42-13.
STRONG AT HOME
The Texans are strong at home this season, going 12-0 so far in Wisdom Gym. Tarleton has won 22 of its last 23 games in Wisdom, dating back to last season. The Texans are on a 14-game home winning streak, dating back to Feb. 13, 2010.
WINNING AT HOME
The Texans have been tough to beat at home during
Lonn Reisman's tenure. Tarleton is 152-16 (.904) in the last nine-plus seasons, dating back to the 2001-02 season. In Reisman's 22-plus seasons, the Texans have a 308-59 record in Wisdom Gym (.839).
The home record in the last eight seasons leads not only the LSC teams, but all of the NCAA South Central Region members, too.
HOME STREAK
The Texans are in the midst of a 14-game home winning streak – tied for the third best since the 2001-02 season. The other time the Texans were on a 14-game home winning streak was in 2003-04. Tarleton had a streak of 33 (2004-2007) and 25 (2001-03) for the top two streaks in Wisdom Gym during that span.
DEFENSE, DEFENSE
The Tarleton defense is ranked No. 1 in the nation scoring defense, allowing opponents to score an average of 51.8 points per game heading into this week. Tarleton is No. 3 in the nation in field goal percentage defense, holding opponents to 37.1 percent from the field.
Thanks to the defense, Tarleton has the No. 4 scoring margin in the country with a plus-21.7 margin.
FORCING TURNOVERS
Tarleton is forcing lots of turnovers this season, but giving away less. The Texans are No. 3 in the nation in turnover margin with a 6.5 margin in favor of the purple and white.
Part of turnovers is taking the ball away, and the Texans are No. 30 in the country in doing so, averaging 9.1 steals per game.
REBOUND THAT BALL
Heading into this week, the Texans are No. 15 in the nation in rebound margin (7.5). The Texans have outrebounded every foe this season except Cameron, Texas A&M-Commerce, Abilene Christian and West Texas A&M.
Tarleton is outrebounding opponents by an average of 36.9 to 29.6.
LEADING THE TEXANS
Corin Henry leads the team with 13.0 points per outing and is the only Texan in double figures.
Carrington Tankson (9.7) and
Devon Hills (8.1) are second and third, respectively.
Wes Dipprey leads the team with 6.4 rebounds per game while
Donta Smith is second with 4.2 boards per outing. Henry tops the squad with 35 steals and 83 assists.
TANK YOU VERY MUCH
Carrington Tankson scored 28 points on Saturday in the win over Midwestern State. He is the first Texan to score that many points since
Marlin Cloudy did so at Angelo State on Jan. 17, 2009 - a span of 61 games.
PASS IT HERE
Corin Henry has 216 career assists heading into tonight's contest. He passed Todd McCormick (1993-97) at 215 assists (93 games) for No. 14 on the Texans all-time list in the game at Incarnate Word. Henry needs five more assists to tie Chris Brown (1994-96, 33 games) at No. 13 with 221 and needs 10 to tie Jim Moreno (1988-92, 121 games).
SOUTH PLAY
The Texans are led by
Corin Henry with 14.0 points per game during South Division play followed by
Carrington Tankson with 10.1 points per game apiece. Dipprey leads the team with 7.0 boards per game during South Division play as Tarleton is outrebounding foes 34.0 to 29.0 and outscoring them 64.5 to 53.0. Tarleton is averaging .441 from the floor, .405 from the arc and .676 from the charity stripe while holding opponents to .396, .309 and .610, respectively.

Tarleton is 9-2 this season when holding opponents to below .400 shooting percentage from the field.
OUTSCORING FOES
The Texans are outscoring foes 73.2 to 52.3. The Texans' biggest win of the season came against Arlington Baptist – 108-30 (78 points). The smallest margin of victory is four at home against Texas A&M-Commerce (70-66).
SHOOTING TEXANS
The Texans are averaging .453 from the floor, .385 from the arc and .678 from the charity stripe while holding opponents to .377 from the field, .324 from the arc and .644 from the line.

Tarleton is outscoring opponents in points off turnovers (22.6 to 11.1) and points in the paint (32.7 to 18.3).
OFF THE BENCH
Tarleton is averaging 30.9 points per game off of the bench this season as the Texans are outscoring opponents from the bench by 15.8 points per game (15.1 for opponents).
DEFEATING THE MUSTANGS
The Texans handed Midwestern State its biggest loss since Nov. 25, 2008 on Saturday with the 12-point win. That was the worst loss by the Mustangs since losing at Central Oklahoma (92-78).
IN THE CONFERENCE
The Texans are first in the LSC in scoring defense, scoring margin, field goal percentage defense, three-point field goal percentage, turnover margin (+6.53), rebounding margin (+7.5), offensive rebounds (13.5), rebounding defense, defensive rebounding percentage (.734) and offensive rebounding percentage (.390). Tarleton is third in rebounding offense (37.1) and in assist/turnover ratio (1.0).
SCOUTING THE GREYHOUNDS
The Greyhounds are coming off an 81-79 loss at home to Midwestern State on Wednesday. However, ENMU claimed two big wins last week with a 98-82 victory at Abilene Christian and an 84-62 win over then No. 16 Incarnate Word in Portales, N.M.
ENMU enters Saturday's game with a 9-11 overall record and a 4-4 LSC South Division tally.
The Greyhounds are led by Stefan Mirabal with 14.5 points per game while Max Carrier (13.6) and Tyler Jefferson (10.4) are also averaging in double digits. Aaron Edward's leads the team with 5.5 rebounds per game followed by Jefferson with 4.9 boards per outing.
The Greyhounds are averaging .435 from the field, .366 from the arc and .683 from the line while opponents are shooting .474 from the floor, .347 from the arc and .667 from the stripe. ENMU is outscoring foes 75.7 to 76.5 and being outrebounded 37.4 to 34.1.
ALL-TIME SERIES
Tarleton leads the all-time series, which began in 1964, 28-7. Tarleton has claimed the last seven meetings, including the 77-53 win at ENMU on Jan. 22, 2011.
The last ENMU win came in overtime in Portales, 77-74. Tarleton had won the previous 18 games before that loss. The Texans are 22-6 against the Greyhounds under head coach
Lonn Reisman, including a 9-2 mark in Stephenville.
LAST TIME UP
Tarleton went ahead by nine points with 11:03 remaining in the first half, but the Texans went cold and allowed ENMU to tie the score at 21 with 7:04 on the clock. Tarleton then outscored the Greyhounds 17-10 in the final seven minutes of the first half and never looked back. Tarleton led by as much as 30 pints (75-45) with 2:54 remaining in the contest.
Corin Henry led the Texans with 18 points while
Fabian Wilson (16) and
Wes Dipprey (11) also scored in double digits. Dipprey had a double-double with a game-high 11 rebounds while
Devon Hills pulled down 10.
Tyler Jefferson was the only Greyhound in double figures with 18 points while also leading the home team with nine rebounds.
Tarleton averaged .491 from the floor, .400 from the arc and .708 from the charity stripe while ENMU shot .333, .250 and .500, respectively. Tarleton outrebounded the home team 44-27 and outscored the Greyhounds off the bench, 31-14.

The Texans will return to action at home on Wednesday, Feb. 15 against West Texas A&M at 8 p.m. in Wisdom Gym.
COMING UP AT HOME
The Feb. 16 game at home against West Texas A&M is Toms Night with a raffle and the painting of Toms Shoes. It is also Military Appreciation Night and Tarleton ROTC Recognition.
The Feb. 23 game at home against Abilene Christian is the annual Tarleton Athletics Cookout. It is also Dublin Night where all fans from Dublin will get in free with proof of residence. That will also be Senior Night where the Texans and TexAnns will honor the 2010-11 seniors.
