STEPHENVILLE - Tarleton (17-6, 14-1) will travel to D.L. Ligon Coliseum Monday for the second - and final - regular season showdown with the Lone Star Conference's second ranked team, Midwestern State.

The TexAnns are coming off their first loss of the season Wednesday on the road against Texas Woman's while Midwestern used an 8-0 run over the final 1:13 to hold off Incarnate Word at home Wednesday.

However, MSU will be playing just two days after making a road trip to Texas A&M Kingsville where they won 86-64 on the road at Kingsville. The TexAnns have not played since Wednesday.

Tarleton got the better of these two teams when they matched up in Stephenville Jan. 28. Shelby Adamson's 20 points and Kiara Wright's double-double lifted Tarleton to a 77-62 win.

Since that meeting, MSU has won three straight while the TexAnns are 2-1.

Tarleton will look to be carried by its trio of 13-point performers, Kiara Wright and Shelby and Peyton Adamson. Shanae Lowrance has also improved her scoring of late and jumped into the top 30 scorers in the conference with 8.5 points per game.

The Mustangs are led in scoring by Savannah Carver, who is scoring over 16 points per contest this season. Kristi Degelia is also averaging double figures with 11.6.

Only one game separates these teams from a first-place tie in the Lone Star Conference with West Texas A&M just three games back in third place.

Tarleton is 23-28 all-time against the Mustangs, dating back to 1980, and just 9-14 in Wichita Falls. The TexAnns have won 13 straight against the Mustangs, including the win this season, and have not lost - on the road or at all - since Jan. 6, 2005.
