No. 7 Texans will compete in ninth NCAA National Tournament

INDIANAPOLIS, IND. - The Tarleton men's basketball team will travel to Wichita Falls to compete in the first round of NCAA South Central Region tournament where they will face No. 7 seed Missouri Southern.  The Texans are the No. 2 seed in the tournament.

The No. 7 Texans are coming off a trip to the LSC Tournament Finals and a regular season LSC Championship.  At 26-5, Tarleton is heading into the national tournament as one of the favorites in the South Central region.

This will mark the ninth time in the past 11 seasons that the Texans will head to the NCAA tournament.  In the 2007-08 and 2009-10, Tarleton advanced to the NCAA Regional Finals and in 2006-07, they won the regional championship.

"We are excited for this opportunity," said Reisman.  "This is our ninth trip to the national tournament so we have been there before, but with 36 or so universities in the South Central region, it is still a great achievement to be selected.  I am proud of our coaches, players and staff for what we have accomplished this season with a share of the LSC Championship, but we still have a lot of work to do this year."
