SAN ANGELO – The Tarleton TexAnn golf team combined to shoot a final-round 14-over par (302) on Tuesday, finishing in third-place at the Angelo State Concho River Classic in San Angelo. The TexAnns shot 30-over par (606) as a team in the two-day tournament.
 
St. Edward's picked up the win with a combined score of 18-over par (594). The Hilltoppers shot nine-over par (297) each day in the event. Midwestern State finsihed just ahead of the TexAnns in second-place, with a combined score of 27-over par (603).
 
Tarleton's Isabell Jimenez-Perea won the individual title as she carded a combined score of even-par (144) in the tournament. Jimenez-Perea, who shot a two-under par (70) on Tuesday, won the title in a two-hole playoff with Incarnate Word's Flower Castillo as she also shot an even-par (144) in the two-day tournament.

Both golfers parred the 18th hole and was forced to head to No. 10 for another playoff hole. Jimenez-Perea managed to par that hole as well, while Castillo bogeyed the hole giving the TexAnn freshman the title.
 
Jessica Pickwick scored a a two-over par (74) on Tuesday and finished the tournament with a combined score of six-over par (150) to come in a tie for ninth-place overall. Sharon Lau's round of seven-over par (79) on the day gave her a total score of 11-over par (155) and a tie for 21^st-place overall. Jacqueline Lau carded a two-day total of 13-over par (157) to finish in a tie for 29^th-place, while Sarah Fulfer rounded out the TexAnn scorecard with a two-day total 18-over par (162) in a tie for 41^st-place.
 
Three of the five players had lowere scores in the second round, helping the TexAnns come back from a fourth-place total on Monday and finish two shots better on Tuesday for a top-three finish.
 
The TexAnns will return to action in a few weeks, participating in the St. Martin's Invitational Oct. 5-6. The tournament will be held at Olympia Golf and Country Club in Olympia, Wash.
