STEPHENVILLE, Texas — Tarleton State Women's Golf is set to open their fall slate on Tuesday at the Tulane Classic at TPC Louisiana.
 
The reigning back-to-back WAC Champions will begin their fall campaign in their first appearance at the Tulane Classic. The three-round, two-day event will begin with an 8 am shotgun start on Tuesday morning with the first two rounds. Wednesday will feature the third and final round all at TPC Louisiana. The field features 16 teams with Tarleton State as the lone UAC program. Also in the field are Tulane, Howard, West Florida, Southern, Georgia State, San Diego State, Samford, LSU, Lamar, Loyola, Southern Mississippi and Jackson State. Live results will be provided by Scoreboard by Clippd.
 
The Texan squad features two returners from last year's conference championship and NCAA Regional team as well as four new additions. Gina Chen and Natalia Fiel Ros return for the Texans heading into their second season with the Purple and White. Fiel Ros tied for eighth at the WAC Championships last year shooting a nine-over, 225. She was one of three Texans to record a top eight performance. She was also the second highest finishing Texan at the NCAA Waco Regional, placing 37^th. Chen was the highest performing freshman at the WAC Championship, placing 14^th. Magda Domine enters Stephenville for her first season with the Texans after spending last season at Wichita State. Domine notched a pair of top 20 performances, both which led the Shockers. At the AAC Championship, she led Wichita State with a 12^th place performance.
 
The Purple and White also features a trio of international newcomers. Luchi Quiroga joins Domine from Argentina. Quiroga ended 2025 as the sixth-ranked U18 golfer in Argentina. She notched four individual titles since the fall of 2024 in addition to two team titles. Filippa Mortensen hails from Denmark ahead of her first year in Stephenville. Mortensen ended her prep career as the 21^st ranked golfer in the nation. Yanin Kongthawornwong rounds out the newcomers residing from Bangkok, Thailand. She tied for the individual title at the 2025 BG Sports Junior Golf Tour where she shot a low round of two-under par. She also finished as the runner-up on the 2025 SAT-GPS Junior Tour #3 which entitled her to becoming a WAGR member.
 
For the first tournament of the season, Chen will be competing out of the top slot. She is followed by Quiroga, Domina, Fiel Ros and Mortensen. Kongthawornwong will be competing as an individual for the Texans.
 
Head coach Isabel Jimenez enters her ninth season at the helm of the program. The back-to-back WAC Coach of the Year spent all four years of her illustrious collegiate career for the Texans. During her time at Tarleton State from 2012-16, Jimenez was a four-time All-American and the No. 1-ranked Division II player in the nation her senior year, which led to her being named the PING Women's Golf Coaches Association National Player of the Year, the first in Tarleton State and Lone Star Conference history.
 
Tarleton State will next be in action on Sept. 21 and 22 at the Yellowstone Intercollegiate hosted by Montana State. The two-day, three-round event in Bozeman, Mont. will be held at the Riverside Country Club.
