Volleyball Preview: Texas Woman's, Texas A&M-Commerce

TexAnns host TWU, TAMUC this weekend in LSC action

Jazmine Green and the TexAnns are hosting Texas Woman's for Pink Out night Friday at 6 p.m. in Wisdom Gym. They'll turn around and host Texas A&M-Commerce Saturday at 2 p.m.

STEPHENVILLE -
After securing win No. 10 of the season Tuesday night, Tarleton State looks to continue its winning ways this weekend as the TexAnns return home to host Texas Woman's and Texas A&M-Commerce in Lone Star Conference action.

Friday: Tarleton vs Texas Woman's at 6 p.m.
Saturday: Tarleton vs Texas A&M-Commerce at 2 p.m.

GAMEDAY PROMOTIONS
Friday night is PINK OUT night at Wisdom Gym. The TexAnns and Pioneers will wear pink in honor of the fight against breast cancer. Fans are encouraged to wear pink as well. Also, Tarleton Athletics will be giving away tickets to see Stoney LaRue in concert Saturday night to fans in attendance.

LAST TIME OUT
Tarleton State visited Dallas Baptist on Tuesday and handled the Patriots in four sets, improving to 2-0 against Dallas Baptist this season. Stacie Murrah led the team with a 17-kill effort.

SERIES HISTORIES
Tarleton trails the all-time series against Texas Woman's and A&M-Commerce. Of the 46 all-time meetings between Tarleton and TWU dating back to 1978, the TexAnns trail 17-29 but have won three straight meetings including a sweep of last year's meetings. The TexAnns and Lions have met 28 times since 1984 and Tarleton trails 13-15. Tarleton has won four straight over the Lions and eight of the last 10.

SCOUTING THE OPPONENTS
Texas Woman's is currently sitting in second place in the Lone Star Conference - two games behind West Texas A&M and 0.5 game ahead of the TexAnns. The Pioneers are coming off a sweep against West Texas A&M in Canyon. Texas Woman's has dropped two LSC games - both in the last four games. Meanwhile, the Lions have won three of the last five. Both Texas Woman's and Texas A&M-Commerce have lost to Texas A&M-Kingsville and West Texas A&M this month.

The TexAnns will head to Austin next Tuesday night for a match with St. Edwards.
