Career nights abound for TexAnns in 104-36 win over Arlington Baptist

Tarleton has eight players set, tie personal bests en route to fourth straight win

After setting a new career-high with 13 points last Tuesday, sophomore Raven McGrath scored a new personal best 18 points in Tuesday's win over Arlington Baptist.
Box Score STEPHENVILLE – Eight players either set or tied their personal career highs to lift No. 24 Tarleton (7-1) to a 104-36 victory over Arlington Baptist (3-3) in Wisdom Gym Tuesday night.

This marks Tarleton's largest margin of victory since defeating Concordia (NAIA) by a school-record 80 points in a 109-29 rout on Nov. 24, 2009.

Tarleton's current win streak now sets at four straight and over the past three, the TexAnns are outscoring opponents 274-136 and out-rebounding opponents 154-81. In the last three games of the current winning streak, Tarleton is shooting .493 from the field and .393 from downtown with 69 assists and only 40 turnovers as a team.

The teams traded the first two buckets of the game to bring the score to an even 2-2 but a free throw by Kiara Wright at 18:21 started a 19-1 Tarleton run that pushed the lead to 21-3 after the first 5:30 of game time. Wright opened the game with Tarleton's first nine points.

Over the next 3:20, Arlington Baptist cut into the TexAnn lead with an 8-2 run of their own to make it 23-11 at the 11:10 mark of the opening half, but a layup by Kathy Thomas after an offensive rebound got the TexAnns on a roll they would not relinquish.

The Thomas putback started a 28-14 Tarleton run over the rest of the first half to give the TexAnns a 51-25 lead at the break. Tarleton entered the game 6-0 when leading at halftime and are now 7-0 when defending a halftime lead.

Tarleton outscored ABC 53-11 in the second half en route to the victory.

Raven McGrath, on her birthday and fresh off a 13-point effort last Tuesday, poured in a new career high 18 points while Ikpeaku Iwobi had her first career double-double with 11 points and 13 rebounds in 12 minutes.
