LAST TIME OUT
Tarleton State split a weekend of road Lone Star Conference contests last weekend, beginning with a sweep of Texas A&M-Commerce. After dominating the first set, Tarleton and the Lions went down to the wire but the TexAnns were able to hold on and secure the sweep Friday night. Saturday, the TexAnns went down to Denton and fell in four sets to the Pioneers.

WHERE THEY STAND
After beginning the final stretch run of conference play last weekend, Tarleton State is currently occupying the No. 3 spot in the Lone Star Conference standings. The TexAnns are tied with Angelo State but hold the tiebreaker after sweeping the Rambelles in Stephenville earlier this month. Texas Woman's is in second at 7-3 in LSC play while West Texas A&M is currently holding the top spot at 9-0 in LSC play. The top seed of the conference will be the host for the LSC Championship Tournament in November.

TARLETON vs ST. MARY'S
This is the 17th meeting all-time between the TexAnns and Rattlers dating back to 1998. Tarleton trails the all-time series 4-12, but since winning their first game in the series in 2004, Tarleton is 4-3 against the Rattlers in the last seven meetings. Tarleton's last win over St. Mary's was a five-set win on Sept. 10, 2010.

SET NOTES
Tarleton State is 3-1 this season on Tuesday night games and 2-0 in non-conference Tuesday games. After playing 15 straight sets without a four-set match, Tarleton State has now played four sets in two of its last three games. Tarleton is 6-2 in sweeps, 2-1 in four-set games and 6-2 in five-set matches.

UP NEXT FOR TARLETON
The TexAnns return home this weekend to host conference rivals, Midwestern State and Cameron, beginning Friday night at 6 p.m.
