TARLETON vs ANGELO STATE
This will be the 41
st meeting between the TexAnns and Rambelles since the inaugural meeting in 1978. Tarleton State has won 12, including the last meeting on senior day in Stephenville in 2013's regular season finale. On Nov. 16 of last year, the TexAnns battled back from a 0-2 deficit to beat Angelo State for the first time since the 2006 season.
TARLETON vs NEWMAN
The TexAnns and Jets are meeting for just the second time in the history of the Tarleton volleyball program and the TexAnns hold a 1-0 series advantage. The two teams met for the first time at the Arkansas Tech Spikefest on August 25, 2007 when Tarleton earned a five-set win.
SET NOTES
After going on a school-record run of five-set matches to begin the season, Tarleton State has turned things in the opposite direction with four-straight sweeps – two of which Tarleton has won. The TexAnns opened the season with seven five-set matches in the first 10 games, which topped the previous high of four five-setters over the first 10 games in school history, and Tarleton has played just one four-set match all season – the first game of the year against Arkansas-Fort Smith.
