STEPHENVILLE – Coming off a four-set win for only the second time this season, Tarleton State will return to Lone Star Conference action for the final round of league games beginning Friday at Commerce.
 
Tarleton will head to Commerce for a 7 p.m. matchup against Lions before heading over to Denton Saturday for a 2 p.m. game against Texas Woman's.

LAST TIME OUT
Tarleton State started this week with a four-set win over in-region opponent Dallas Baptist. The TexAnns started the game off strong wining the first two sets in convincing fashion 25-13 and 25-13. After dropping the third set, Tarleton came out firing on all cylinders scoring seven of the game's final eight points to win the set 25-16 and improve to 13-4 on the season.
 
TARLETON vs A&M-COMMERCE
This is the 33rd all-time meeting between the TexAnns and Lions since the inaugural meeting in 1984 and A&M-Commerce holds the advantage 17-15. A&M-Commerce won 10 of the first 14 meetings between 1984 through 2001, but the TexAnns have had momentum as of late winning 10 of the last 13 games. Tarleton defeated Commerce earlier this year in a 3-0 sweep in Stephenville.
 
TARLETON vs TEXAS WOMAN'S
This is the 50th all-time meeting between the TexAnns and Pioneers since the inaugural meeting in 1978 with Texas Woman's holding the advantage 32-17. TWU won 18 of the first 20 meetings between 1978 through 1998, but the TexAnns have fought back splitting the last 6 games at three a piece. Tarleton fell earlier this season in Wisdom Gym to TWU 2-3.
 
NATIONAL SPOTLIGHT
This weekends games will showcase several athletes who are nationally ranked in different statistical categories.
 
Tarleton junior middle blocker, Kenya Alexander, continues to be the national leader in blocks per set at 1.42 every set. Alexander has blocked 100 kill attempts in just 69 sets this season with 32 being solo blocks. Hailey Roberts currently ranks 19th in total kills with 238 and is tied for 38th in service aces.
 
A&M-Commerce's Courtney Tate is currently ranked 16th in the nation in total assist with 649 on the season. Her teammate Amy Davault is leading the nation in total attacks (860), which ranks third in attacks per set (13.03) and is 19th in points per set (4.60). Texas Woman's Morgan Wilson is ranked sixth in total digs (364) and 34th in digs per set (5.28).
 
50th ALL-TIME MEETING
The TexAnns will face Texas Woman's for the 50th time making the Pioneers only the third team in Tarleton history to play at least 50 games against the TexAnns, joining Abilene Christian and Midwestern State.
 
SET NOTES
Tarleton State played a four-set match for the first time since the season opener. The TexAnns defeated Arkansas-Fort Smith in four to begin the season and then played eight five-set matches and had been involved in seven sweeps before playing the second four-set match of the season in a 3-1 win against Dallas Baptist on Tuesday.
 
UP NEXT FOR THE TEXANNS
Tarleton will again hit the road Tuesday heading to San Antonio to face in-region opponent St. Mary's University before returning Stephenville to host LSC rival Midwestern State on Friday.
