Tarleton opens Lone Star Conference play at home with a pair of games this weekend as the TexAnns take on Texas A&M-Commerce and Texas Woman's.
 
THE GAMES
The TexAnns play Texas A&M-Commerce on Friday, Sept. 16 at 6 p.m. and TWU on Saturday at noon.
 
THE OPPONENT: TEXAS A&M-COMMERCE
TAMUC comes in with a 5-4 record on the year and is 1-0 on the road. This is the 36th career meeting between the two schools, with Tarleton leading the series 18-17. The TexAnns are 10-4 at home against TAMUC and have won four straight against the Lions with a 12-1 record in sets played. Tarleton has won five straight against TAMUC at home dating back to 2011.
 
THE OPPONENT: TEXAS WOMAN'S
Texas Woman's comes in with a 3-5 record on the year, having lost three straight. This is the 53rd career meeting with TWU, with the Pioneers leading 33-19. Tarleton, however, swept the season series last season, winning both matches 3-1. Tarleton is 9-10 all-time at home against TWU.
 
DOMINATING THE LSC
The TexAnns went a school-record 15-1 last season in the Lone Star Conference en route to their first LSC regular season title. Tarleton is 61-27 in the LSC the last five seasons. The TexAnns are 7-4 in LSC openers under head coach Mary Schindler and have won six straight LSC openers at home.
 
UP NEXT FOR TARLETON
Tarleton will take on No. 8-ranked Angelo State on Tuesday, Sept. 20 at 7 p.m. in the Wisdom Volleyball Gym.
