ARKADELPHIA, Ark. – The Tarleton TexAnn Tennis team wasted no time in disposing of Delta State and getting on the road home as Tarleton defeated the Statesmen with a 5-0 sweep to improve to 4-1 on the season.
 
After earning a default win in the No. 3 match, Tarleton's Ashleigh Elward and Erika Johnston took the No. 2 match in an 8-2 victory while Elena Preadca and Luiza Ferraro-Adas handled the top-seeded match with an 8-6 win.
 
The fourth win of the match started with a default victory out on the No. 6 spot in the lineup before Tori Simmons put a stamp on the match with a 6-0, 6-0 win in No. 5. Johnston, Preadca, and Elward were all leading their respective matches when the final match was won.
 
Tarleton will return home on February 17 for a 2:30 p.m. match against Central Oklahoma in Stephenville.
