DENVER, Colo. – The national top-25 battles just keep on coming for Tarleton as the TexAnns qualified for the Gold Bracket of the Colorado Premier Challenge and will square off with the nation's No. 2-ranked team, Southwest Minnesota State, tomorrow at 10 a.m. CST.
The TexAnns are one of four teams in the Gold Bracket and competing for the Colorado Premier Challenge Championship, which has seen six of its winners since 2006 go on to win the NCAA Division II National Championship in that same season. Joining Tarleton in the Gold Bracket is No. 2 Southwest Minnesota State, No. 1 Concordia-St. Paul and No. 6 Angelo State.
Tarleton and Southwest Minnesota will kick-off day two of the tournament at 10 a.m. CST while Concordia-St. Paul and Angelo State will square off at 12:30 p.m. All Gold Bracket games will be played at Metro State's home gym in Denver. The winners of the first two Gold Bracket matches will play each other for the Premier Challenge Championship at 8 p.m. CST Saturday while the losing teams will play in the third place game at 4:30 p.m. CST.
