The nationally-ranked Tarleton Texans are coming off a 1-1 week after falling to Texas A&M-Kingsville and then sweeping Texas A&M-International on the road. Â

NATIONAL SPOTLIGHT
Tarleton Volleyball dropped four spots to No. 14 in the American Volleyball Coaches Association after splitting its south Texas road trip last week. Tarleton has now been ranked in 34 straight AVCA polls dating back to the final poll of the 2016 season.

The Texans, who were picked as the preseason favorites in the Lone Star Conference, are the highest ranked LSC team in the AVCA poll this week.

THE OPPONENT: CAMERON
The Texans and Aggies last met in 2018, where Tarleton swept Cameron in Wisdom, 3-0. The Aggies lead the all-time series 23-25, while the Texans hold the advantage at home, 12-9. Cameron enters the match 4-8 on the season with a 1-3 mark in conference play.

THE OPPONENT: ARKANSAS-FORT SMITH
The Texans and Lions last met in the first round of the NCAA Regional Tournament last season. Tarleton swept UAFS to advance to the NCAA South Central Regional Semifinals for the third time in program history. That win also secured a new school record for wins in a season (30). The all-time series is tied 3-3, while the Texans hold the advantage at home, 1-0. Arkansas-Fort Smith enters the match 10-3 on the season with a 4-0 mark in conference play.

UP NEXT FOR TARLETON
The Texans have a long week ahead of them as they are set to play three games next week. The Texans will first travel to Denton to battle Texas Woman's on Tuesday, Oct. 8 at 6:00 p.m. Tarleton will then return home for a match-up against LSC rival Dallas Baptist on Friday at 6:00 p.m. On Saturday, the Texans will head to Dallas to battle Dallas Baptist once again at 2:00 p.m.
