LAST TIME OUT
Tarleton opened the 2019-20 season with a 2-0 weekend, sweeping the Texan Tip-Off Classic in Wisdom Gym.
 
The Texans defeated Adams State by 28-points, 69-41. Senior forward Mackenzie Hailey scored 11 of her game-high 15 points in the first half, which matched Adams State's first-half total as a team.
 
On Saturday, Hailey posted her first double-double of the season and 27th of her career with 20 points and 13 rebounds to lift the Texans over Colorado Mesa, 57-53.
 
INSIDE THE SERIES: EAST CENTRAL
The Texans and Tigers last met in 2010, where Tarleton defeated East Central in Stephenville, 95-50. The Texans lead the all-time series 11-5 and hold the advantage at home, 6-2. East Central enters the game 1-1 on the season.
 
HAILEY BEGINS SENIOR SEASON WITH LSC WEEKLY AWARD
Mackenzie Hailey started her senior season off with the LSC Offensive Player of the Week award after leading the Texans in scoring on opening weekend. Hailey averaging 17.5 points, 8.5 rebounds, 3 assists and 1.5 blocks at the Texan Tip-Off Classic. It's the second LSC Offensive Player of the Week award of her career and fifth total LSC Weekly Award.
 
WBB ACCEPTING DONATIONS FOR 'SISTERS FOR SOLDIERS'
The Texans will be participating in the 'Sisters for Soldiers' charity event during Thursday's match-up.
 
'Sisters for Soldiers' is a donation drive ran by Tarleton's Alpha Omicron Pi chapter. The drive entails competing organizations looking to donate the most approved items. Items include food, clothing, hygiene products, games, and miscellaneous items like first aid kits and pencils. Donated items will then be packaged in care boxes and sent overseas to troops.
 
The organization with the most items will receive a donation to the Philanthropy of their choice. The event runs from November 11th-15th. Women's basketball donation boxes will be available in the foyer of the athletic office at Wisdom Gym and at tomorrow's basketball double-header.
 
UP NEXT FOR TARLETON
The Texans continue their homestand as they battle Arlington Baptist in Wisdom Gym on Thursday, November 21st at 5:30 p.m. Tarleton will then face their first Lone Star Conference rival of the season in Texas Woman's on Saturday at 2:00 p.m.
