TOURNAMENT NOTES
Based on strength of schedule, Tarleton has claimed the No. 4 seed in the Lone Star Conference Volleyball Championship and will receive a bye to avoid Tuesday's play-in games and advance straight to the three-day league tournament in Commerce.

The new league structure is set for the top 12 teams in the LSC to compete for the tournament title. All 18 teams are seeded based on rating percentage index (RPI) and the division winners earn the top three seeds while the fourth seed is the team with the highest remaining RPI, which was Tarleton. The top four seeds advance to the traditional eight-team tournament field at the No. 1 seed location, which is Texas A&M-Commerce, while the remaining 5-12 seeds will play one-game playoffs at the host institution of the high seed. The winner from each of the four play-in games advance to fill out the tournament field in Commerce.

In addition to claiming the LSC title, the winner will receive the league's automatic berth into the NCAA Division II Volleyball Championship.

THE OPPONENT: WEST TEXAS A&M
The Texans and Lady Buffs last met in October, where West Texas defeated Tarleton in Wisdom, 3-1. The Lady Buffs lead the all-time series 46-12. West Texas enters the match 22-5 on the season with a 14-4 mark in conference play.

NATIONAL SPOTLIGHT
Tarleton Volleyball received votes in this week's American Volleyball Coaches Association (AVCA) poll. The Texans are one of three LSC teams in the poll, joining Angelo State (14) and Texas A&M-Commerce (RV).

TEXANS MOVE UP TWO SPOTS TO NO. 7 IN NCAA REGIONAL RANKINGS
Tarleton Volleyball, the reigning regional champions, jumped two spots up to seventh in the latest NCAA Division II South Central Regional rankings. The top eight teams in the regional rankings at the end of conference tournament championship weekend will advance to the NCAA Division II tournament. The South Central region is comprised of the Lone Star Conference and the Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference.
