  • Richmond has tied their season-long winning streak at three. They defeated Tarleton's last opponent, Ball State, on Tuesday 75-73 at the Puerto Rico Clasico.
  • The Spiders just shot 54.7 percent (29-53 FG) from the field and 54.2 percent (13-24 3PT) from distance. Siobhan Ryan dropped 27 points on 10-of-13 shooting, including 7-of-9 from deep.

QUICK HITS
  • Tarleton nearly overtook the 8-2 Ball State Cardinals to start their Puerto Rico Clasico slate, falling in overtime 80-77. It was the first time this season the Texans lost while shooting 40+ percent (6-1), lost while outshooting their opponent (5-1) and lost when outrebounding their opponent (4-1). It was Tarleton's first outcome decided by fewer than 10 points this year.
  • Tarleton just played their first overtime game of the season, their first overall since Jan. 22, 2022 (a 57-56 win at Seattle U).
  • In non-conference play over the past two seasons, Tarleton is 14-7 (.667). This is Tarleton's final non-conference game of the year.
  • In the last game, Tarleton rolled out a brand new starting lineup for the first time since Nov. 15 at Vanderbilt, breaking an eight-game streak of keeping the same starting five. Jenna Dick made her first start of the year after she ended last season with nine straight starts.
  • Playing off the bench for the first time since Nov. 12 vs. UNT Dallas, Viktoria Ivanova responded from a tough stretch to the tune of a tied-season-high 16 points (7-11 FG), adding five rebounds.
  • Teresa Da Silva just had a game-high 19 points, adding nine rebounds and six assists in 41 minutes. Out of Tarleton's 10 games, she's led the team in scoring seven times. On the year, she's averaging a team-high 16.9 points, fourth best in the WAC.

WHO'S HOT
  • Teresa Da Silva – Da Silva just led the team in scoring, rebounding and assists, marking the third time this year she's led the team in all of those three categories in a game. Out of 10 games, she's led the team in scoring seven times, led in assists seven times, and led in rebounding four times.
  • Viktoria Ivanova – Ivanova just scored her third double-digit scoring game of the year, her first since Nov. 18. In three games off the bench, she's averaged 12.3 points on 56.7 percent shooting (17-30 FG). In seven starts, she's averaged 4.4 points on 23.9 percent shooting (11-46 FG).
  • Mayra Caicedo – Caicedo just tallied 12 points, six rebounds, five assists and three steals. It's her second 10-5-5 game of the year (Nov. 18 vs. College of Charleston). At 18 steals on the season, she now leads the team in the category, the tied-12th most steals in the WAC.

NUMBERS TO KNOW
10: Despite outshooting and outrebounding the Cardinals, the Texans can point to the turnover differential as a reason for the narrow loss. The Texans forced 10 turnovers, a season-low and their TIED-THIRD-FEWEST in a game in their NCAA Division I era.

3: On both ends of the court, the Texans are THIRD IN THE WAC IN THREE-POINT PERCENTAGE, shooting 33.2 percent from long range while forcing a 28.0 three-point percentage. The last time Tarleton finished a season with such a high three-point percentage was 2017-18, at 33.9 percent.

6: Tarleton is one of six teams in THE WAC WITH A WINNING RECORD, owning the tied-fourth best at 6-4 along with UTRGV. In the latest WAC WBB RESUME SEEDING SYSTEM, Tarleton was sixth, well above seventh (Sam Houston).

8: Tarleton has two of the top passers in the conference, with two ranked in THE TOP-EIGHT IN ASSISTS in the WAC. Teresa Da Silva is sixth at 4.0 assists per game, and Mayra Caicedo is just behind her at 3.8 APG.

UP NEXT FOR TARLETON
Tarleton will have an eight-day before in-between non-conference and conference play over Christmas. The Texans will be back home at Wisdom Gym for their next game, set for Dec. 29 at 5 p.m. CT against their I-20 rival Abilene Christian. The Wildcats are 5-5 thus far this season.
