STEPHENVILLE, Texas — Due to medical circumstances, Tarleton State men's basketball head coach Billy Gillispie will be away from the team indefinitely.
 
Assistant coach Joseph Jones will lead the Texans until Gillispie's return. Jones led Tarleton State in Gillispie's absence this past week during the SoCal Challenge. The Texans won the Sand Division Championship with victories over Austin Peay and Cal State Bakersfield.
 
The Texans will begin Western Athletic Conference play on Wednesday at William R. Johnson Coliseum in Nacogdoches, Texas, at 6:30 p.m. Their next home game is Saturday against UTRGV at 4 p.m. at Wisdom Gym.
