Tarleton State’s Mathilde Brogens wins The Judson individual title, Texans claim 2nd place

HATTIESBURG, Miss. – The Texans notched their fourth top-two finish of the fall Tuesday in Hattiesburg as the Purple and White took second place in The Judson hosted by Southern Miss.

Mathilde Brogens took home top prize winning the individual title for this year's edition of The Judson. Brogens finished her final fall campaign for Tarleton State taking first place shooting -6 (210, 69-68-73) and tallied up 13 birdies. Her finish was one stroke shy of her career-best 54-hole low score (-7).

"I am so happy for Brogens' individual title," said head coach Isabel Jimenez. "It was long overdue and exciting that she won it during her final fall season which makes it that much more special."

The team earned a second-place finish for the third time this season. This go-around the Texans finished shooting +5 (869, 289-284-296), the third lowest program low team score this fall.

"We have a very solid team and our scores this fall show just that," continued Jimenez. "I am proud of the way the girls have competed this fall. It has been great being in contention from the first to final event of the season. We definitely had many learning experiences this fall, and we are eager to start competition again early February. We can't wait to see what's in store for us in the spring."

Lou Deltombe and Louise Depadt both earned top-five finishes taking third and fourth respectively. Deltombe shot -2 (214, 73-69-72) while Depadt finished +1 (217, 70-71-76). Depadt eagled in her opening round and tallied seven birdies across the two-day event.

Rounding out the team portion of the tournament was Elle Fox and Darianys Guzman. Fox returned to the lineup for the first time since Bearkat Invitational . In Fox's return she finished 24th shooting +12 (228, 77-76-75). Guzman finished her fall taking 33rd shooting +18 (234, 78-80-76).

Rebeca Fernandez competed as an individual finishing 19th and shooting +10 (226, 77-75-74)

The Texans will now have a three-month break before opening their spring campaign Feb. 3-5 at the WAC Preview in Arizona.
